“Quick light dinner with a dozen on the half shell”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Part of the Oxbow market, which is worth a visit all by itself. Had a dozen mixed oysters on the half shell. Wife had the clam chowder, which she rated an 11 on a scale of 1-10. I finished with steamers and pasta. If you add pasta, it's an extra $2. With the pasta came some form of greens. Not my style, but must be somebody's? Still the steamers were good.
Huge round of applause for our server Andie. We walked up at 7:58. She could tell we were newbies and let us know they were about to close, so we better grab a seat. She could have let us dawdle and then tell us they were closed. Remember a time we saw the staff rush to lock a door on an ice cream joint when we were walking up 10 minutes BEFORE closing. So, good on you Hog Island!

“Can't get enough of this place!”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

The BBQ oysters are just amazing. They are @4 bucks each and totally worth it. Atmosphere is fun with some large communal tables outside on the deck. There menu is limited but that never bothers us as we are there for the oysters, of all kinds - large, small - cooked, raw.... We get oysters here and then roam around the market for other goodies.

“Located in Oxbow Market”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Fun place and busy place. The is located at the back entry near the cheese store. Love to sit at this great bar and enjoy oysters. The Oxbow Market is fun to walk around and select special items to take home or enjoy.

“Oyster happy hour”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

Simple, clean, and casual. Great specials during happy hour, featuring discounted craft beers and oyster specials when I went on a Tuesday around 6 pm. There were some other food options, but I enjoyed the raw oysters from three different areas in the bay. Service was fast and friendly, appropriate for setting. Some seating outside, but I think sitting at the bar is faster, friendlier service. Great way to end a day of wine tasting, and if you've indulged in a big lunch earlier in the day.

“Fun, friendly, fantastic”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Some restaurants and bars dont actually need to do much to be amazing and memorable. If you have fresh oysters, a small grill, a great setting, and mega-friendly service, you're onto a winner. Simple.

The rest of the reviews on here cover the quality of the food, wine and service. I agree with all the excellent reviews.

We (quite obviously tourists, clutching our camera) were welcomed as if we were regulars and to be honest, if i lived in Napa, I'd quite happily dine there every night.
