Attraction details
Owner description: Located on 217 acres in the Carneros region of Napa Valley, di Rosa houses the foremost collection of contemporary Bay Area art, with nearly 2,000 works by 800 artists. A wide range of styles, media, and subject matter provide an overview of the creative energy and freedom to experiment that characterize this region of California. The Gatehouse Gallery welcomes drop-in visitors to view di Rosa’s current exhibition, but in order to view the full extent of the collection (including the Main Gallery, Residence, and Sculpture Meadow) a tour is required. These informal, guided tours include time for independent viewing of the artwork. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Advance reservations for tours are highly recommended.

There is a lot of diverse art packed into the various buildings and around the grounds, and the setting is spectacular.

“Art and wine”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

What a great way to break up a day in the wine country. Art- sculptures, paintings, photography, environmental, drawings. A fantastic collection of contemporary art of Bay area artists situated right in Napa on 20+ acres of land and buildings.

The only down side to this museum is that you have to see the work as a tour and rarely are the grounds open for walking around at your own pace.

That said, this is a wonderful collection of art that gets your mind spinning and ready for exploring the vineyards and restaurants in Napa and Sonoma area.

“Once in a lifetime experience.”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

This is one of those must do things in life. The story behind the Di Rosa is worth the visit alone. The art is AMAZING and I've brought my now 14 year-old daughter there since she was born. It is always changing and yet has the same incredible effect. This is a MUST SEE!!!

“Great place to visit”

Fabulous art collection displayed in a beautiful setting. You have to reserve ahead of time to tour the house, museum and grounds but it is well worth the planning.

“Modern Art in a Fabulous Setting”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Di Rosa Preserve has a great collection of modern art from California artists in an attractive setting. The two-hour guided tour is well worth the price. Our guides were very knowledgeable about the art and the history of the Preserve and its former owners. The grounds are lovely. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. This is a great diversion from wineries while visiting the Napa Valley.
