Nice hotel fair view super area in the middle of all the wineries but when it comes to cleaning you room, prepare to wait until very late in the day. Ours was done after 5:00PM we had to wait in the lobby for them to finish. Not good after a day in Napa and all that wine to drink.

By way of background, I have been a platinum member of Starwood hotels for the past 12 years, and have slept in one of their beds for the equivalent of one year in the past ten. That is not to mention the Marriotts, Hiltons, Hyatts, Intercontinentals, Four Seasons, etc over the same period of time. I am quite used to being treated well at nice hotels, but this was extraordinary. The property was beautiful, the staff gracious and friendly. And the food was simply wonderful. Every morning, after a quick workout, we ate a wonderful healthy breakfast out on the patio. Again, when we weren't out and about, there was always a delicious healthy option for lunch out under an umbrella. In the evening, there was wine-tasting in the lobby. And of course LaToque! Extraordinary! (But that is for another review!)

I was completely impressed with the hotel. Not coincidently, my fiance and I kept seeing two gentlemen in the lobby, seemingly every time we walked off the elevator. We thought perhaps they were from corporate, inspecting the property. One morning, while waiting for our car, I asked one of them if in fact this was the case. The gentleman introduced himself as Don Shindle, the General Manager of the Hotel, and he explained that by being present in the hotel, he was better able to feel the same experience his guests did. Well, it sure seemed to work! Thank you Don Shindle for leading such an extraordinary team of dedicated professionals! I will certain be back to enjoy the Westin Verasa again (and again)!

Its a nice hotel, not charming or romantic but nice. Stayed in a two bedroom suite and its a great size but had to fight with staff to not have a road view. Location is nice for some things like the proximity of oxbow market but overall neighborhood is not that nice ie. Wal-mart is a two block walk. Now lets talk about the problems wihthis hotel. It canbesummed up by saying poor management. The service could not be any worse. You need to call two to three times for anything! After our third day and second talk with manager i gave up. They miss cleanimg your room, miss simple thimgs like providing soap and shampoo. There is a full kitchen in two bedroom suite but no items like per towles to clean up. Its amazing how lax this staff is. When you get fed up and complain, they give you attitude. I came here to relax, and its difficult when you have to fight for basics. Maybe its because they automatically include gratuity makes them feel like they can act like a snobby french hotel. . I am a starwood platinum and would never stay here again. Westin and spg should be embarrased by this hotel. What a shame. Who is training this staff?

We stayed at the Westin Verasa for 4 nights in July, 2011. This was our first trip to Napa. The hotel was really lovely--check in was a little hectic when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon--the hotel only has valet parking, and the driveway was filled with cars when we arrived. We checked in and went to our toom on the 3rd floor--a Starwood Prefered Guest Floor. Our room was spectacular--a king, with a mini kitchen (which we hadn't expected). This was great--we were able to keep some basics for breakfast in the fridge! The bathroom was not exactly spacious--but adequate for the two of us.

We spent time at the pool each day-and it was not difficult to get a lounge chair in the afternoon--though the cabanas were always occupied when we were there. There were also a lot of families staying at the hotel--which I was shocked to see---who brings kids to Napa??? At times, the pool was noisy with kids..especially the ones whose parents weren't around! The fitness room was very small...and always crowded--for the size of hotel--it could have been more spacious.

The evening wine tasting was just that...a taste---we were offered one tiny pour--that was it!!

We did not eat in the restaurant--so I can't comment on that. Downtown and The Oxbow market are in walking distance--and we walked to restaurants downtown. The Wine Train is across the street from the hotel--and you can hear the chug-chug in the evening--which can be a little annoying!

Overall, we were happy with our stay---also, not publicized is the one washer and dryer on the 2nd floor---it is free---but there is only one of each--but it was nice to be able to use--especially during a 4 night stay!!

If you are going to stay in Napa, the Westin has the perfect location. A 2 block walk to the Oxbow Market (which is okay) and a 10 minute walk to Downtown Napa. Obviously this area was hit by the housing crash, as next to the Westin are vacant lots with trails for possible development projects. It's not pretty.

Pros: PERFECT LOCATION to downtown Napa. This is a new property. Clean and nice size rooms with a kitchenette. Across the street is the Wine Train. Warm and friendly staff. There is a free wine tasting from 5 to 7 pm during the week.

Cons: Shuttle service is unorganized and random. Staff does not know where the shuttle is at any particular time nor when it will be returning. A ride can not be schedule. The property allows pets. So look down at the sidewalk when walking. Some guest do not seem to pick up after their dogs, neither does the hotel.

Shame: Be prepared for an amenity fee in addition to of the room rate. You will not be informed of the amenity fee until the final bill. The amenity fee is for valet parking, internet access, access to the gym and pool, etc. When making the reservation we were told these "amenities" were include in the price. I assumed that meant included in the room rate. Not included in an extra fee. The Westin should just be upfront regarding this amenity fee.

Suggestions: The Oxbow market is okay. Instead I recommend eating in downtown Napa or for Breakfast hoping in your car and heading up to the IHOP or Black Bear Restaurant. We found an exceptional bakery: The Model Bakery. Get there early otherwise you'll have a limited selection.

No doubt. This is a beautiful property and a great choice for a day of wine tasting. As a Starwood Platinum, we were treated to a massive suite - a plus since as one of us sleeps in, the other has space for emails and the morning Jo. The restaurant has a spectacular wine list - and the food is rich. One tip - if your room check in is delayed, ask if they have a coupon for any free wine tastings nearby. We discovered a coupon for a free taste nearby - just where we spent $50 to enjoy ours....

Room Tip: Be Starwood Platinum!

We just returned from traveling to Napa and staying at Westin Verasa. Upon hearing that we were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary, the woman at the desk immediately upgraded our room, and later in the week, we received a card signed by the entire management staff with a bottle of wine! During our stay, the maids, bartenders, concierge, front desk, and pool staff always greeted us with a smile and asked if there was anything they could do for us. This personal attention during our annual anniversary trip really helped make us feel special and is sorely lacking in most venues. Not only would we return, we will be sure to recommend the Westin Verasa to all of our friends traveling to Napa!

Room Tip: Be sure to ask about room upgrades!
