“Myers Inn so quaint and nice”
Reviewed September 15, 2005

Myers Inn so quaint and nice, we left Vacaville to spend one night. We arrived among the Redwoods so majestic and tall, and said we hope our Bed and Breakfast will suffice one and all. We entered the front door, and felt at home right away. We were greeted by the managers, who said enjoy your stay. The building was built in the late eighteen hundreds and the interior had artifacts of great abundance. The hospitality, the kindness and conversations galore, just lead us in the direction of wanting more. Our room was beautiful with wicker and lace. The glory of being there you would not hesitate. The warmth, the enjoyment, the all around care was evident in all we shared. Myers Inn, what a place with all it's grace. It takes you away from the cities rat race. We couldn't have enjoyed out stay more. We will return to the Avenue of the Redwoods and the great friendly spirit that adorns. What a joy, what a home, you feel peace and serenity and can have such a ball, they have it all. The managers are great, so helpful and kind, to make sure your stay is one of a kind.
THANK YOU,

Stayed August 2005

Nestled in the middle of California's Redwood Forest, along the "Avenue of the Giants" is the quaint Myer's Inn. This charming Bed and Breakfast is a refreshing and peaceful place to stay while enjoying the majestic sights of the Redwood trees. The hotel offers excellent and friendly service. Not to mention, the luxury of a very comfortable bed. The restauraunt across the street is great too. We enjoyed it so much we didn't want to leave, but being on a road trip, sadly we had to hit the road after a fabulous breakfast the next morning.

This B & B, smack in the middle of Humbolt Redwoods State Park is a "diamond in the rough"...

Myers Flat, California is a shabby, dilapidated town, but don't let that deter you from spending a couple of nights at the Myers Inn. The rooms are spotlessly clean and delightfully decorated in turn-of-the-century motifs and white wicker furniture. The breakfast, served in the 100 year old dining room, was delicious and ample enough to last through several hikes in the redwood forests surrounding the inn.

Robert welcomed us into the spacious lobby, upholstered to resemble a sitting room of the turn of the century (a century ago). The Myers Inn is expanding and the parking lot is right in front of the 10-room addition being built that will include a Bridal Suite. But don't let the construction stop you -- the Myers Inn is open for business.

We arrived on a Monday night, traveling south on 101. Located at the southern tip of the Humbodlt Redwoods State Park, where highway 254 intersects with 101, Myers Flat consists of two restaurants, a coffee shop, and about a dozen more small businesses ... and the Myers Inn.

The bedrooms were very large, with light, airy wallpaper and lots of light through many windows. The wraparound second story porch invites reflectioin, reading and relaxing away the afternoon.

A lawn party followed from early evening into the night in the Myers Inn's backyard. Robert continued to be the perfect host, providing guests with a complimentary glass of wine or a beer.

The king-size bed gave the best night's sleep in quite awhile, and we woke to the smell of fresh coffee wafting up the stairs to our room. A full breakfast including scrambled eggs, fruit, waffles, toast, bagels, and always fresh and tasty coffee. We lingered over our second cups as we read the local newspapers.

Then we were gone, returning to our "real lives" farther south. We will return! A nice hideaway in beautiful country.

The Inn is surrounded by tree covered mountains, and you can sit and commune with nature on the balcony that goes around the Inn on three sides or sit in the beautifully landscaped back yard. The breakfast was wonderful, consisting of waffles, scrambled eggs, plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, crossaints, english muffins, juice, coffee and tea. The beds are wonderful, and the rooms are lovely. There is a cozy lobby which has a large fireplace, and wicker furniture with historic pictures of the family which built the Inn in 1867. There is a first class restaurant within walking distance, and the redwoods are surrounding the Inn and the river is also very near, and great to swim and play in. It is worth every cent you pay to stay at the Myers Inn.

My husband, son and I stayed at Myers Inn at the end of June and we loved it! The room had two very comfortable beds, a nice bath and a door to the second story porch (perfect for reading, contemplating and just relaxing). It was the perfect spot to take off from in the morning and explore the redwoods.
The Eel River runs through Myers Flat and we had a blast tubing! The water depth ranged from ankle to waist deep and the temperature was very pleasant. There were a couple of spots where the water was so shallow we had to get up and walk. At those times I really wished I had some good water shoes instead of flip-flops because the river bed was quite rocky.
The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. He even lent us an air mattress for the river trip and offered to drive us up river to retrieve our van after our adventure.
