“Wonderful interlude in the Redwoods”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

Great location in the middle of the redwoods, lovely room and grounds. Matt was very welcoming and made a delish breakfast. He is very knowledgeable about what is going on in the area. He was able to recommend restaurants in the area and other things to do.

We had hoped to stay at the Miranda Gardens on our trip through the Avenue of the Giants, but were unable to get reservations. The manager there recommended we try the Myers Inn.

It's a bed and breakfast located in a historic stage-coach inn. Our room was at the front and had one door from the wrap-around porch and one door from the lobby area. It had a decent sized bathroom with the vanity separate from the tub/toilet area. The bedroom had white wicker tables and dresser with glass tops, and a white iron headboard and very comfortable bed. It also had a large, flat-screened tv mounted on the wall and a large closet. It was decorated in an old-fashioned, period style but still modern and comfortable, and had a little basket of chocolates on the table.

The lobby/dining room was full of old photos, comfortable furniture, and a huge fireplace. The porch had plenty of chairs for relaxing in the shade, and even came with a porch cat! The breakfast the morning we were there was eggs cooked-to-order, bacon, pancakes and fruit with juice and coffee. The service was wonderful and the food delicious.

There was free wifi, too, and it worked great. The only real downside was the tv channel selection - very limited choices. But we were there for the redwoods and the elk, so tv wasn't a high priority for us.

I highly recommend this little gem.

My family with young children and our dog stayed here during our road trip. The inn was the perfect accomodations for our family. The owner,Matt, couldn't have made us feel more welcome!!! We also loved the historical aspect of the inn as an old stagecoach stop.
We would love to return.
Thanks Matt!

Cozy and intimate little inn with a great location in the Avenue of the Giants which makes it an excellent starting point for your nature or romantic escapade. The best customer service is in that your intimacy is respected but at the same time the Manager will tend to your inquiries and cook an fresh breakfast for you in the morning. During your day there will be a lot of attractions and trails to explore and if your are lucky after a day full of excitement and fun, there will be grilled burgers being prepare at the General Store across the street, best burger I have had in a while (just make sure you are really hungry before asking double everything). If you love nature, you will not be disappointed with the spectacular scenic view from the balcony of the Inn - such splendor!!! I don't care if the place is not the most modern facility, it has an abundance of everything we were looking for, fun activities during the day and the most beautiful and peaceful night.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms offer a great view from the balcony

My husband and I are not usually social people on vacation so we have never stayed at a B & B. we tried the Myers Inn and were pleasantly surprised. It was cozy, comfortable and good for our whole family. They were very accommodating and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We stayed in a lot of hotels, and my kids said they liked this place the best.

Room Tip: Great atmosphere

We arrived in the evening and found a very clean room, with two brass beds and antique quilts.
The next morning, we were served a hot breakfast consisting of bacon, eggs, french toast, and fruit. It was delicious.
The staff exceeds anything I could have imagined, as they are warm, engaging, and extremely helpful. We had our two dogs with us, and there is a side yard area to walk them.
The only issue is the price, which was $220 for one night. Still, for one night, it was a welcome relief to have a safe, welcoming environment to rest in.

Four friends and I just returned from a trip to see the Redwoods. I, as well as my friends, are thrilled with our stay at Myers Country Inn. Staying at a BB was the perfect option for the type of trip we were taking and Myers did not disappoint. Cleanliness, comfortable beds and safety are most important to me, which are the main reasons for my rating but not the only reasons. The owner, his children, Mr. Kitty and Jade, the chocolate lab, were very friendly and sweet. The owner and his father were accomodating and helpful; whether it was recommending which areas of the park was the best to see or where to eat in Eureka or surrounding area. The Inn is in the perfect spot for checking out the surrounding towns like Miranda or Redway, catching a beach/ocean in Shelter Cove or Ferndale or driving up to Eureka for seafood or exploring the Redwoods, as it is conveniently located just off the 101and minutes and in the heart of the Redwoods. It is minutes from the visitors center of Humbodlt Redwoods State Park and you can enjoy the beautiful drive north and south on the Avenue of the Giants. Good value for the price. I will stay again and recommend it to others.
