“Great dinner in the mountains.”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

My husband and I went here for dinner recently and were very impressed. The B&B we were staying at recommend Alchemy and we were not disappointed. The service was very good and the food even better. My husband had the Ultimate Meatloaf (meatloaf wrapped in bacon) and I had the special - pork tenderloin with porcini risotto. Both entrees were excellent. We were also very happy with the desserts we ordered: a brownie sundae and chocolate mousse. We would definitely go back to Alchemy.

“A little bit of the Magic!”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

This was my first trip to Murphys, Ca. We went for wine tasting, and half way down the main street of Murphys, we found the Alchemy Cafe. Several of th locals told us it was a great place for lunch. Boy, what an understatement. What a fun place. The staff was super, and the food was excelent, and served fast.

“Live Music, Patio Dining, Inventive Menu at Alchemy”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

I enjoy this restaurant in beautiful, quaint Murphys, with Tuesday local's night (wine featured), and live music on Friday nights. They have a cozy fireplace indoors with tables, and an enclosed patio dining area (occasional dancing when they have the live music). In the summer it is also very pleasant to sit outside at the little metal tables near the hedge area, a nice view with trees. Their menu is good, with truly excellent choices of wine and specialty beers. Murphys is located in the Sierra foothills of California.
After dining at Alchemy you might enjoy strolling through the tree shaded town on foot to explore some of the interesting shops or indulge in some wine tasting, as there are at least 25 or so wine tasting rooms in town, as well as many other excellent restaurants.

“Great Food - Great Choices”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

The menu is awesome, they have some great beer and wine choices. The Jalapeno Calamari is to die for and the burger and fries with truffle oil is one of the best combos anywhere. Of course the rest of the menu has all been excellent as well!
