The location is so perfect for walking everywhere in town! We could walk to tasting rooms and not worry about driving. Many choices for eating very close by. Must try Hillbillies for breakfast!!!
The room was quiet and the staff are very helpful.

Although it's a small, local inn, it was one of the cleanest, well-stocked hotels that I've stayed in, including larger chains. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The room was quite large with the toilet facilities in a good arrangement to allow one person to shower while another could be using the sink without the mirror getting all fogged up by the shower.

The location is great--within one block of the quaint town of Murphys which is home to many very good wine tasting rooms for the many wineries in the area. There are quite a few great restaurants in the town as well. Although the inn is right on the highway, it wasn't too noisy and the location provided easy access.

I would highly recommend Murphys Inn Motel.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room away from the highway although the highway really isn't that busy or noisy.

We stayed at the Murphys Inn as part of a wine tasting trip. The rooms are good sized, simply furnished and very clean. The location is outstanding! We parked our car and didn't use it again until we left. Restaurants and tasting rooms are an easy walk, with the exception of Ironstone winery which is farther out of town. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The cookie jar filled with oreos was a nice touch! I would stay there again.

This hotel is in a great location. We spent the weekend bicycling. Walked to breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms are clean and comfortable and a good value for the price. The clerk at the front desk was VERY pleasant and friendly.

My mid-November one night stay at Murphys Inn was a quaint respite in history's backyard. One is greeted by warm and welcoming young people. Accommodations are comfortable, and literally within walking distance of a health-promoting market, pizza parlor, and other amenities. History's backyard is everything I had hoped for, including walking through downtown Main Street, taking in the remaining ravishing fall colors, the wonderful sights and sounds of nature's water flowing on the backside of downtown, the never-ending genuine warm welcomes in every establishment and on the sidewalks. Murphys Inn is a great location from which to explore all of California's gold rush history in the wonderful historical towns which locals thrive on to keep alive for all of us.

Room Tip: For me, having a room with a good-sized, low-sitting window from which to view nature, and to open to take in the sounds, sights, and smells of rain and foliage was very important to me. I was given a downstairs room that included all of this.
