Great place for a summer gig. I had lawn tickets which was okay, but would probably go for seats next time. Great selection of food and drink on sale. Much better than we're used to in Europe.

Thank Ole S

At one point in its history, this place was exciting. Now it seems drab, overcommercialized and more trouble than it's worth. I saw the Dali Lama here (very moving), July Fourth concert w/ the SF Symphony and fireworks(twice) and a few other events. Traffic is awful!

Shoreline Amphitheater is a great place for open air performances. There is a huge lawn area as well as several thousand seats. The shows, most booked by Live Nation run the gamut. Traffic after a show can be a nightmare, so you may want to leave before the encore.

If I was reviewing the Bridge School Concert, it would get five stars. But for Shoreline, it is 2.
Even leaving Palo Alto, a 15 minutes drive, an hour and 15 minutes early, we were still over an hour late.
It starts on the freeway well before the exit. an off ramp and an on ramp merges and gets worse from there. 21 minutes to exit the freeway. And another 30 to the parking area. Then a very long wait in line to enter. A real disappointment and huge frustration.
Many stadiums hold as many as this one, but they have far better ways of moving the people quickly.

I really enjoyed the concert and I think Shoreline Amphitheater is a great venue. I may have felt different if I had seen the show from the lawn instead of from a seat. The lawn seating is behind the seats and is very steep. It was also very packed. I plan to return for next year's Bridge School benefit, but only if I can buy a seat.
