Reception was OK, but I had a quiet room for a couple of good night of sleep.

One of my pet peeves with hotels is when you book a room several months in advance, and yet they still put you in a handicapped room. Would the hotels not be better served by saving these rooms for, oh I don't know, handicapped people? When we asked to be moved to another room, we were told the hotel was full. I guess when we booked it 4 months ago, that was the only room they had available...

My personal pet peeves aside, for the price, and for a one night stay, it's not a terrible hotel. The counter staff were fine, and the bed was reasonably comfortable, but the room still had more of a cheap motel feel to it, and I really didn't like the little baby mini pillows they use instead of normal sized pillows (they are literally no bigger than the little throw pillows on your couch). I knew when I booked it that I wasn't booking a room at the Ritz, but still, I thought the Quality Inn brand would at least live up to a certain minimum standard.

For the area, who knows, maybe this is a good hotel, but if I'm ever back in the Mountain View area, I'm looking elsewhere. Based on the reviews I read on here before I booked it, I was just expecting more, but ended up being disappointed once I got there.

Stayed here 5 nights on business. The room was large and clean. Overall it is a nice place, maybe a little worn but not too bad. The pillows were really small and the water pressure low. However, it is a nice place to stay. There is a Hampton Inn about 1/2 mile away that is better but was $27/night higher. I would stay here again.

We stayed 1 night here while we were in town to see a concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, which is about a 5 minute drive away. The hotel is very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a hot breakfast provided, which was quite good and included cook your own waffles. There is heaps of parking onsite and there is also a business centre and free guest laundry available. The room itself was clean, quiet and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for reasonably priced accommodation in this area.

I stayed 3 nights here for business travel. Very nice! Was a little concerned it would be noisy, since it is located right across from the freeway 101. I asked for a room farthest away, just in case, but noticed the lobby was pretty quiet (double paned glass, the receptionists said). The room was very quiet, only a slight road sound could be heard. Some of the area down the road on either side of the hotel didn't look the best, but there were also some nice homes and businesses as well. Underground parking was great. I felt very safe.

Room was pleasantly furnished and very clean. Large bathroom! Very roomy room, bed was comfortable and pillows were soft (I have found many hotels have stiff pillows, but not here!). Room was cleaned daily and new bed linens, towels, and complimentaries. The room smelled very nice, as well as the whole hotel due to either air freshener or cleaning product that they used, not sure which, but was a nice touch. Paper delivered at door every morning.

The free continental breakfast was plenty and tasty - scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy as well as an assortment of cereals, yogurt, fruit, breads, etc.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, as well as stay there again!!

Compared to what you can pay for a hotel in Silicon Valley, this place is excellent value. The plus points: spotlessly clean rooms serviced very well every day, friendly staff, comfortable beds, spacious rooms (mine had a fridge, microwave and kettle), hot breakfast including fresh waffles (yum!), lots of free parking including an underground car park, easy access to the 101 freeway.

Also it's just across the freeway from the Shoreline Amphitheatre, and the Microsoft and Google campuses in Mountain View (close enough to walk in under 30 minutes, there is a cycle/walking path that goes under the freeway, the staff can tell you the route).

To those other reviewers who say it's a dodgy area - it's not posh but I never felt threatened even walking home alone at 2am. There is a dive bar next door (no loud music though and again not threatening) and a Mexican convenience store next to that which is handy. It is right by the freeway but the sound insulation is good and only a few rooms overlook the freeway itself.

It's about a 20 minute walk/5 minute drive to the centre of Mountain View and the Caltrain station into San Francisco.

Overall this hotel is excellently located, good value, and if you don't mind a bit of walking may even give you the option of not renting a car if you are working/visiting in the area, which is unusual for the US. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night to see a concert at the Shoreline. I had picked up earlier mention on here of a cycle path and with a little Googling was able to locate where this started (just down the road by the junction with Moffett) and walk under the freeway and on to Shoreline.
Front desk was very helpful throughout my short stay and I was able to get a late checkout at 2 p.m.
There is a convenience store just next door, but not much else. (Except the Ramada).
I walked into downtown which took around 45 minutes - about the same time it took to get to Shoreline Ampitheatre.
Used the free wireless internet and also used the Google city wide free WIFI network.
