“Delicious and cozy”

We com here for the sushi, but end up ordering the huge seafood pancake each time. Good food - my only gripe is they won't honor a lunch Groupon at dinner - not even for the original non-promo value.

“Fun place to get sushi and noodle dishes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2013

I went here for dinner with a co-worker and we both really enjoyed our dinners.

They had great Sushi and a fairly wide selection of choices on their menu.

We also found them to be very flexible and they made some rolls for us that were not even on their menu.

Hopefully I will get a chance to go back here again as the food and the service were great.

“Delicious and melt in your mouth”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

We came here with a group of 10 girls. The manager Charlie is friendly and we felt very welcomed. We were seated outside so it was nice to people watch. The Yakitori skewers were amazing, especial the the beef tongue, so tender and grilled to perfection. The Kurobuta pork buns were to die for, the braised pork belly had so much flavor and melt in your mouth. The grilled squid was fresh and grilled just the way I like it. We tried a lot of sushi rolls too, my favorite was the Red Dragon roll, so much flavor and tasty. I was very impressed with the price and how fresh everything was. I can't wait to return and eat here again. Thanks Charlie!!!!!!

“Authentic, Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

My family has dined a few times at Bushido. This place has great food, great service, and great ambiance.

My wife was born and raised in Japan, and I lived there for several years as an adult. Bushido is a truly authentic Izakaya style restaurant. These are places one goes with a group of friends and colleagues to drink cold beer (or your beverage of choice) while eating several small plates (think tapas, only not as chic). The menus tend to have a wide variety of items, and sushi/sashimi, while often available, is not the main attraction.

On one recent visit, we had the uni-ikura don, the special Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, the kurobuta pork buns, ramen, and an uni-ochazuke. Each was beautifully prepared and delicious. The tonkotsu broth for the ramen was spectacular (yes a bit salty, but it's supposed to be). The uni was fresh and delicious. The pork-belly buns (not a traditional Japanese dish) were delightful. the okonomiyaki was perfectly prepared and a real treat, as we have never seen this in the US except in Japan town. Finally, the Sapporo draft beer was ice cold -- just as it supposed to be in an Izakaya.

We will back here again and again.

“Creative, great flavor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

We had a nice table outside, but after being seated we were ignored for 20 minutes. After a comment to the hostess (who said "I thought someone else was serving you"), the service improved immediately and was good for the rest of the meal.

Very nice flavors, all around. I would eat here again, definitely. Small plates made to share, we ordered about a dozen plates. The specials (bacon wrapped halibut and fresh corn grilled on a skewer) were divine. The garlic edamame, so simple but so good, may have been the favorite dish of the night.

Would order again:

Albacore Toro

Shiitake mushroom yakitori

Ocean trout Toro

Probably would skip:

Japanese sweet potato -- flavor was ok but the texture was off, very mushy and hard to eat.

Miso marinated cod -- very sweet, too sweet for me. Not sure what type of miso they use for this. The fish itself was fresh.

Katsu curry -- meh.

Not much of a wine list, but a good selection of beer and sake. Definitely would eat here again.
