“Best Kept Secret in Town”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

We learned about this park on our last (third) morning in town. It contains the bubbling beginning of the Sacramento River, which also is used by locals as a fresh water source. A nice small park, and we were glad we didn't miss it.

“Where the Sacramento River Begins”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

Bring your water bottles and fill up on the purest water you will find. This water has NO taste--just like water is supposed to be!
There are some "hippies" that hang around, a few ripe-smelling individuals as well as a few other organic smells (aka, pot). The playground has a huge climbing structures and there is a few trails complete with bridges to explore the area. Over-all, this is a MUST when visiting Shasta!

“Quaint park...”
Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

Came here as an adult after being here as a kid and it was much different. The head waters are cool to see, but the number of transient people hanging out there IN the waters made it difficult to truly enjoy (get a taste etc) them.

Reviewed July 31, 2013

This place is located 10 minutes after Mount Shasta down town in a very beautiful calm place.
You can go and eat your lunch there and also,BBQ there!
But the unbelievable part is the best water of world (source of Sacramento river)
You find bunch of people are filling big tank of water.
Don't miss it.

“Loved the Headwaters”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

We enjoyed getting a drink of fresh mountain spring water. Walking the trail through the other streams that are further down. It was enjoyable to sit and ponder life for a while.
