“A nice, small town park”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

The biggest attraction of the park is seeing the headwaters of the Sacramento River. The water flows down a few feet, creating a small waterfall. It is nice to just sit there and listen to the water flowing. Locals fill their water jugs at the falls. This park is also a good place to park to take a hike up a hill just outside of the park east of Mount Shasta Blvd.

“Lush park in a mountain town”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

There was something special about this lovely little park in Shasta City. Take a while to meditate. there are many good spots and no intrusions. It is natural, tranquil and you can simply enjoy the beautiful spring which is reverently cared for by the locals. They are constantly dropping in with cartons of jugs to refill. These water bearers are as unique and unassuming as this little town. Neighboring the entrance is the famous Springhill Nursery. Driving around the town, there are mammoth wisterias, large flowers and extremely healthy forms of vegetation.

This is a must-see place at Mt. Shasta City. Amazing that the
Sacramento River originates in this little spring.

Locals bring their jugs to fill with water from the source of the Sacramento River. Great nature trials made for an enjoyable afternoon.
