“A perfect place for a relaxing week!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

I stayed here for a four nights. It was perfect! The staff was amazing! I went to Mt Shasta to run, relax, hike. I stayed in the carriage house, with access to the main house. Each morning, the breakfast was amazing! I don't eat meat, so I was given vegetarian options! Complimentary wine, tea, coffee, and treat of the day :). The location of the B&B was perfect! 1 mile from Lake Siskiyou, where there's a beautiful 7 mile trail loop. Only a few miles from hiking at Mt Shasta! Stores within walking distance (a mile)! I cannot say enough good about my stay!

We recently stayed at the Mt Shasta Ranch B&B for a two night stop over in the area. The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food served was delicious. We really appreciated the staff and their willingness to do anything to make our stay worry free. We had to leave a bit early on our last day and they made sure we had our full breakfast ready before any of the other guests were up. If we are ever through that way again we will definitely stay there again.

I have been coming here twice a year for longer than I can remember - 20 years at least. We come in October and spend a few days after a trip to Ashland, and return in January for the annual dog snow trip. (The dogs are welcome here!) Comfy house, wonderful breakfasts, charming hosts, a porch I could spend all my days on, and right across from Mt Shasta, the most beautiful mountain in the world. Bill Larson knows all the best places to hike and take the dogs, and makes sure everyone has enough to eat and a wonderful time after breakfast. I would never stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: They all have something to recommend them. We like the cotage when the dogs are with us, more room.

Hi we three women, known as The Healing Trinity for the energy and spiritual healings we facilitate were there for a spiritual retreat.

The owner Bill was so charming, sweetly dispositioned and very helpful. The night manager, Daniel was quite helpful when we realized we had not packed a few basic needs. The B&B food was so delish and beautiful we posted a pic on our FB page...thehealingtrinity. The B&B is situated with beauty and serenity all around it., including walking trails and a lake. The house had many memories in their lovely antiques and collectables. We Loved it so much we scheduled a group retreat there in April 2013. Thank you Bill!

Room Tip: The main house has 4 corner rooms, all spacious. There is a separate building if you prefer. All roo...

The Mount Shasta Ranch was incredible. The house itself is huge but manages to be homey and full of character. It has lots of interesting knickknacks, chatskis and old world furniture but they somehow manage to keep it spotless and dusted. Their housekeeper is gold! We stayed in the main house in the southwest room and it was very comfortable and spacious and so was the bathroom. I peeked in the others and they were the same although they were all decorated differently. A fresh cake was baked every day and left out for the guests to enjoy along with wine, coffee and tea. They let us use the kitchen to do some cooking and every breakfast was delicious and made fresh for you when you arrived. The surroundings were beautiful and close to everything. Our dog was also welcomed. The owners and staff were all so accommodating and friendly without being intrusive. I could go on and on. I can't imagine a more comfortable and pleasant place to stay in the Mount Shasta area. This is it!

stayed here 9/14/12....a wonderful experience...from the hostess who showed me all around the property....to the luxurious bed....to the locale, w/ Mt. Shasta in the distance and horses across the fence....to the great breakfast....and the value....this was 5 star lodging at budget pricing....the owner--Bill--even fixed me an early breakfast (had to be on the road before 8am formal breakfast)....Sure hated to leave this place!

found out about it from a mention in Frommer's California guide book...mt. shasta lodging....

Room Tip: stayed in the smallest room...in the annex....and it was still fantastic

This was the best B&B on our two week trip to Calf/Oregon. The front porch had plenty of seats to enjoy the views. Location was very close to town. You could help yourself to wine or snacks from the kitchen (to enjoy on the porch). Our room was in the main house and very large, your own bathroom, and beds were comfortable. As other reviews mentioned, there was a window air conditioner but we only needed to use the fan. We really liked the entire house, porch, downstairs (played pool), bedroom etc. Breakfast was ok, I think it was served by the host but he never introduced himself. Some of the other guests had dogs which surprised me you could have pets, I would have appreciated if they told us that when we booked (allergies).

Room Tip: stay in the main house, rooms have their own bathrooms and are very large.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
This Northern California, 2-story ranch house offers a rustic glimpse into the past in a historical setting. Built in 1923 by H. D. "Curley" Brown as a thoroughbred horse ranch, the original guest accommodations included the main house and several cottages and bungalows. Present-day guests can still enjoy the unique atmosphere and mood of those early years which are reflected in the Mt. Shasta Ranch Bed & Breakfast. This magnificent home has four spacious guestrooms in the main house, separate carriage house with five bedrooms and a two-bedroom cottage. At the end of the day, sit by the crackling fire and look forward to a large county style breakfast in the morning. We hope our relaxed atmosphere will make you feel at home at Shasta Starr Ranch B & B. We're a gracious affordable alternative to hotels. We look forward to welcoming you. As many of the B & B's long time guests may know Julian and Kachina Starr have purchased the B & B, and as of April 1, 2015, we took over from Bill and Mary Larsen. Bill and Mary have owned the building for 30 years, 20 of which they have run it as the B & B giving it lots of love and hard work. We know many folks will miss them. The Starr's feel honored that the Larsen's chose them as their predecessors and will continue the B & B tradition. The new owners, Julian and Kachina Starr have owned and operated Turtle Rock Resort in Gold Beach, Oregon for eighteen years and will bring their experience to the Northern California B & B. ... more   less
