Well it might have been the perfect day as we went but even with just 3 lifts they have a lot of different slope options. All of them are in the middle of the woods, were in perfect condition. I had to get used to no security systems on the lifts. But the staff and resort were well organized, friendly and in happy mood the road was snowy, so better bring a 4x4 or chains.

Weak. Sorry, but it's true. Especially compared to other places in the NW and West. Most CA skiiers probably think it's OK. Low elevation means scant, heavy snow. Runs mostly beginner cruiser type.

Shasta is a great little resort, within driving distance of Redding, southern Oregon, and even Sacramento. This place reminds me of Lake Tahoe 30 years ago. Friendly, small, uncrowded runs, short lift lines. There is plenty of terrain served by the 3 chairlifts that they operate.

Mt. Shasta Board & Ski Park is very small, as far as ski parks go, with three lifts it can be a quick trip to the bottom, but for a family that is looking for a fun winter spot that doesn't cost a bundle, it's a great option. The area is pristine, people are nice, cheap hotels a-plenty, and easy access from I-5. The runs are groomed diligently, and the food and beverage accommodations are very good. They also feature live music and fun events throughout the season. A great affordable place to ski in Northern Ca. Also, never ever crowded. A "long" lift line might mean 5 minutes of chit chatting with the person next to you, whom you have never met...

Normally lines are short and its reasonably priced for a day on the slopes. Food is basic so bring your own meals, parking lot is close to the lodge and an easy walk.
