Matt was out tour guide and we had a wonderful time. He was very informative and he was great at answering everyone's questions. We saw lots of otters and birds, jellies and sanddollars. We will definitely recommend this to others and will return.

My husband and I rented a double kayak at 10:00 in the morning. I brought my waterproof Garmin, so we were able to gauge distance. We paddled up the slough against a head wind and an outgoing tide. At times we felt we were on a kayak treadmill. We were thankful for the double kayak and power. Once we were under the bridge and up a ways, we were on our way, but still had to work hard. Our reward was to stop at mile three and "coast" all the way back (at 2-2.5 mph). Traveling with the wind (and not having to paddle) turned out to be the best part as we were really able to watch the animals and HEAR the animals. The staff at Kayak Connection were all friendly. The equipment was in good condition. We launched from a dock and never got wet. Cost was $55 for 4 hours for the double kayak. We did not have reservations, but were able to go the same day. The slough was MUCH more crowded on our way back than our way out. Not sure my advice about the tide... we were thankful to work hard first and rest on the way back instead of the reverse. There is a porta-potty at the check in area, but no facilities in the slough. Bring snacks and water. We were out 3.5 hours.

I took my husband on a 3 hour guided kayak trip of Moss Landing for his birthday and we were really impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the staff there, especially our trip guide, Flo. He was passionate about Moss Landing, conservation of this great resource, and had a great background of the area. I don't think there was a single question asked from our group he couldn't answer! Since we are new to the area, we decided a guided tour would be ideal for us to learn about the history and wildlife of Moss Landing. If you know how to kayak, you could easily paddle these waters without a tour guide as the waters are very calm. But if you would like to know more about the area, a tour guide is great to have.

Another amazing thing about Moss Landing is all the wildlife you'll see and be so close to, such as otters, harbor seals, and jelly fish (and more)! Highly suggest the early paddle for when to go.

We'll surely bring family here in the future!

My family of 4 rented 2 double kayaks and kayaked through Elkhorn Slough. We went first thing in the morning when they opened. We saw otters, seals, jellyfish, and birds. It was worth going in the morning because there was more wildlife at the beginning of the trip. There was still plenty to see though throughout the entire trip. It was hard work coming back against the tide. It was a great trip!

The staff of this establishment couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and efficient. My extended family of 8 adults all enjoyed our time on the slough. The staff prepared us with sufficient knowledge, set us up with the needed gear and got us situated in our kayaks. It was great fun to see otters, seals, jelly fish and pelicans in their natural habitat and so close. Though our rental was for 4 hours, we were tired after about 2 1/2 hrs and returned. It was an awesome day!
