“Great Burgers and Drinks”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

The burgers are fantastic! Well worth the $16. Normally I wouldn't pay that much for a burger. Specialty drinks were great. Bloody Mary's in my top 10. The waitstaff was not exactly attentive, but this is more of a local hangout, than a 5 star restaurant.

“Great views, bad food”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

This is the place to go for outdoor drinks with your dog. Views of the Pacific are wonderful, service is friendly and dogs are permitted.
However, the low is the quality of the food. Crab cakes were almost like powder. No semblance of crab in it. The fish and chips were good, but other food there isn't worth eating. There are much better places to eat in the Half Moon Bay area.

“Perfect Sunset Patio”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

This bar has a great downstairs patio overlooking the pacific, with fires and free blankets for cool evenings.
A perfect spot for a sundowner drink.

The prohibition era history give the place atmosphere - although the restaurant doesnt have a whole lot of character (especially the doenstairs seating area, unless you have kids) - but its still a lot nicer than most of the places down the road at Half Moon Bay.

“Great atmosphere, beautiful views, really cool restaurant, good food.”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

We went there on a Thursday, mid afternoon, so it was nearly empty. That aside, we loved it there! We did not have a huge meal, we split the sliders which came with fries, plus we ordered the onion rings. OK, that was a lot of food for us, haha. All of it was perfectly delicious. Atmosphere A+, View A+, service was very good. We would definitely go back.

“Dinner at Moss Beach Distillery”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

The restaurant is located in an old building - reportedly a former speak easy and house of ill repute. Supposedly it is haunted. Overlooks the ocean. If you are seated at a window table you will get a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Facility has an adequate paved parking lot - free. Even with reservations we had to wait for our table. Frankly the place seems rather run down but I suppose for some that makes it funky. Outdoor seating is available - they have fire pits and give you a blanket. The establishement is very popular and busy. Bar is small and always seems crowded. Restrooms are in poor condition and dirty. Service was excellent. Food was average - good sized portions but the quality was nothing special. It is a challange to find the place - located off SR 1. Wine list needs help.
