“excellent service, excellent food, $$$ price level is fair”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

MBDistillery is a restaurant that does not let up on quality just because only a few guests remain. We split a portion of the crab cakes appetizer and they were so good that they could compete in the crab-cake capitol - Annapolis MD.
We ordered more crab with crab quesadillas and they were delicately prepared. The only reason for the 4-star rating vs. 5-stars was that the quesadillas could have used a bit more crab and a little less cheese.
The review title already says that the service was excellent but it does not hurt to say it again. Prices were very fair for the quality of the food - not low but justifiably above your run of the mill eatery.

“The Blue Lady”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

We didn't see her but they say the Blue Lady haunts the area! I went to this restaurant for lunch in April so I don't remember my meal exactly but my three friends and I had a great lunch. I think we got some of their lunch specials and we were not disappointed at all.We were lucky enough to get a table by the window and the view is spectacular! We were all very happy to have happened upon it.

“Great View but Pricey”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

We had a late lunch on a Wednesday. As such, it was not overcrowded;
the service was a bit slow considering. We sat on the deck and enjoyed the view tremendously. We ordered the clam chowder, oysters and two different salads. The food was good and was served fresh and within twenty minutes. They offer a decent selection of wines by- the- glass and a great bloody Mary. The prices are pretty steep, but that view is worth something. The firepits and blankets are a nice touch, and if you are searching for a great location to see the sunset, this is the place.

“Great view, average food”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Stopped at this cliffside restaurant for lunch. Inside, walls of windows overlook the water; outside, fire pits keep diners warm. Food was average - not great, not bad.

“Overpriced place with nice view, pedestrian food”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

The Distillery is perched at the edge of a seaside cliff, and has an lovely view of the ocean just north of Half Moon Bay. It has a pleasant, not-so-fancy feel about it--it is indeed an old time road house. HOWEVER, the food is only fair, and the place is wildly overpriced. Really excellent deep friend artichoke hearts, but at $14? Two pasta dishes were high end in price but not quality. The veggie lasagna was good, but not the kind of dish that should have cost $26. The pasta prima vera ($22) had few vegetables and little flavor. The rolls were either stale or just heavy. Service, at best fair. If the prices were half their current level, we might return and try something else. It's a two star restaurant with four star prices.
