“Horrible”

Who ever gives this place 5 stars and says it's the best Italian/ Mediterranean food around, there is something mentally wrong with you! Terrible food, service, enviroment. Don't waste your money here!

“Excellent food and service”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

Good menu and fine, friendly service. A little pricey—dinner for two came to $125 with tip. The food itself was excellent.

“No room for improvement!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

There are three choices for seating: at the bar, by the bar on raised bistro tables and the dining room with white table cloths. They are open for lunch Weds thru Sunday in addition to their regular dinner hours. We stopped in for lunch over the July 4th holiday on Friday and were completely blown away by the quality of the food. Have visited Morro Bay for many years and have my favs, which includes the Galley down on the Embarcadero. This restaurant, however, beats all of the other choices! I lost my favorite French rest. in Pacific Grove, so now have a replacement for it in this wonderful Italian alternative. I ordered the osso buco lamb shank which was served with fresh haricot verts and seemed like Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. We could watch the chef whip up the potatoes and sear the grn beans to perfection. The lamb shank, one of the largest Ive been served, was in a sauce that had been slowly simmering for some time to achieve the richness it provided and the meat fell of the bone! The meal was beautifully presented and served. The bread provided before the meal is home made and you could watch it being prepared. It was served with a balsamic shallot mixture which was silky and a perfect match for the crusty bread. My friend ordered the lasagna which was homemade pasta and a fabulous sauce. I had to try a bite to verify the ravings of deliciousness! The wine selection was very good and the pour generous. The service was equal to the restaurant. There is a full, small intimate bar in addition to having a wonderful wine selection. I saw the appetizer Margherita pizza come out of the oven and wanted to return for one with a drink that evening! I have already planned two more trips, a month apart just to dine here and believe it will become a monthly homage. For once in my "tasting life" I have absolutely NO recommendations for improvement.

“Best in Town”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

This Italian restaurant is at the top of Morro Bay Blvd, far from the harbor. It's a bright airy bar and dining room. Cocktails were creative and STRONG. The Caesar salad was perfectly grilled Romaine halves with shaved cheese and a separate anchovey (for those who may not like them). Fantastic dressing. Best I've found in the Western World! Wife said beet salad was beyond compare too! Entrée of shrimp- and scallop- stuffed flounder was fresh, excellently prepared and presented perfectly. (Comparable to the best of SF and NYC!!!) Second entrée was sauteed halibut on scallop and shrimp risotto. Again fresh and incredibly tasty! Strong wine list and good desserts, too. IfI lived here, I'd be a regular!!
