Been coming for lots of years. Dutchmans is more upscale than it used to be. Still love chowder and fish and chips. We recommend to our friends.

Clam choulder in a bread bowl is spectacular, so is the fish and chips. The crab cakes are not so good. We enjoy the food, but is very similar to the one served in the other restaurants in the area and 30% more expensive. 6 $ for a beer is totally abusive.
Stopped for lunch as this is our
First thought when we are in town.
They never let us down, good food and terrific views. Always a must.
Although we didn't get a fancy seafood dinner we were so pleased with our fish/shrimp chips dinner that we all 4 agreed this was finally a good choice for fish and chips of all the ones we tried this travel trip. After reading several reviews we couldn't decide on this or one other place that was rated highly. We were seated promptly by a polite gentleman. The waitress was as well prompt with our waters and then our orders. We had fine wine and our plates were heaping, the tempura batter was light and the fries good, best was that they were all hot and fresh out of the fryer. I asked for onion rings but was told they were out, would have liked those. The tartar sauce had a nice flavor may have been dill, liked it. The slaw was good but one person didn't like it but then he doesn't like sour cream and I think there was a hint of that because it was not laced with mayo. Overall we enjoyed the dining experience, watching the sunset and the large monolith.
Before anything else, the view is excellent. You can see the seals just outside the window table we had and the view of the rock was very nice. The food matched the view. Had the clam chowder - excellent. Salmon was cooked to perfection. This was a great find on our travels back from Hearst Castle.
