My wife and I stayed here for two nights at the end of December. A little Christmas getaway to Morro Bay. The town was quiet and chilly and pretty, and Ascot Suites were a good base for us to explore from. It's only a block or two down to the embarcadero, and a quick hop over to SLO or down to Montana D'Oro.
The hotel itself was reasonably clean. Most rooms seem to have a small balcony (ours did not), and are fairly large. Our room had a huge whirlpool tub, a gas fireplace you can turn on and off with a switch (nice touch), a nice vizio tv (though this hotel like others has an HD TV hooked up to a not-HD feed, a shame), a desk, and also a sitting table with some chairs. Oddly, there was a big outdoor-type window on the bathroom, I guess so you can watch TV while sitting in the tub (or on the toilet.)
The wi-fi was strong in our room. The breakfast was hot, but could probably use a little closer attending to by the staff, as both days they ran out of some food or coffee and we needed to let them know about it... but it was good just the same. There's plenty of free parking, the staff were friendly. I was happy with this hotel and would stay there again.
