This restaurant has very good food and service. Excellent view! I believe a little makeover is in order though.

We weren't sure where to stop for lunch when down visiting Morro Bay (should have read Trip Advisor!). It was a last minute decision to eat a full lunch instead of just grabbing clam chowder, as first planned. With so many places to choose from all lumped together along the Embarcadero there, we finally decided on Rose's Bar and Grill (downstairs part). We ate inside as that day was windy and chilly. When we walked in there was no one there to seat us and we had to ask the waitress if we sat ourselves. She told us we could sit anywhere. The room had a nice view of Morro Rock and the water and had a typical sports bar type atmosphere which was fine by us. The prices were a bit steep for the sandwiches ($11.95) which just came with fries. We each ordered a bowl of clam chowder (a bit thin but tasty and hot) and split a crab sandwich. The sandwich was thin and soggy (soaked too much with the Russian dressing or whatever it was that was on it) and had a perfume like taste to it. The avocado, instead of
being sliced, was just a big one inch thick slab plopped on one end of the sandwich. The amount of crabmeat was barely noticeable. Fries were dry and tasteless. Try eating elsewhere. So many other places to choose from.

We stopped-in for happy hour and sat at the bar. The service was good, prices were right, and the beer was cold. We sat there till sunset and talked to a couple of locals. It's worth a try.

Had great clam chowder and calamari sandwich downstairs. Very satisfied. Apparently the review has to be longer but I've said it all.
