I'll start with the good points: The room was clean, the hotel was in a very convenient location, and the price was fair for the area.

The bad points: NOISE! The noise level was extreme. We could literally hear the people in the next room shift in their bed, clear their throats, and talk as if they were sitting next to us in our beds. They were not noisy neighbors by any means, but it was liking sharing a communal room. The noise from the road outside, despite our room being as far as you could possibly be from the street, was ridiculous. A motorcycle went by in the night and my six year old leaped out of bed in terror because it sounded like our room was going to fall down around our heads!

The room was incredibly shabby. Our table looked like somebody had set rabid dog on it, it was literally "chewed" up and had almost no surface left. The walls had odd areas with big holes and random screws sticking out, or patches of paint that didn't match. Felt more like staying in a crack house than a motel room. My son said, "Mom, this is the creepiest hotel we've ever stayed in". I agreed and we got out of there first thing the next morning, bleary eyed from lack of sleep.

The bathroom smelled as if somebody had literally poured an industrial sized bottle of pine sol on the walls. I felt ill every time that I had to go in there. It was awful. I'm all for clean, but this was what I imagined a prison bathroom might smell like. The towels were almost unusable for the permeating odor of pine! It was gross. And the toilet seat was cracked. Again, clean, I can't complain about cleanliness, but the smell seemed to be hiding deeper issues.

We did have a "view" of the rock from our "balcony" -- a strip of cement over the Motel 6 parking lot. The rock stuck up over the Motel 6. Very scenic.

The breakfast was awful. Your typical pre-wrapped pastry selection. Nothing that we wanted to eat.

All in all, motels in this area are expensive. But there's got to be someplace less "creepy" (as my son said) than this! Look elsewhere.

The hotel was only a couple of years old and looked like new...very clean, inviting, etc. The king size bed was comfortable in every respect. Nice flat-screen color TV, microwave oven, coffee maker, refrigerator, iron, etc. The bathroom was larger than most, as was the bedroom area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We needed a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine, and someone was kind enough to bring one to our room, and offered to open it for us! The free breakfast included milk, juice, coffee, muffins, cereal, fruit, toast, and pastries. The price was very reasonable, and was less than most other hotels in our online search. It is not on the shore/beach, however, but is only a few minutes drive from the water, restaurants, stores, gas stations, etc. I would rate it as a decent 3-star accomodation, and would stay there again.

We arrived tired and ready to relax. He couldn't find our reservation but after 3 phone calls got that resolved. Sent us to our room with directions to an inside stairwell that was closed due to carpet cleaning. We flagged down a maid and she sent us to another stairway. When we found our room, it was not what I booked. Wrong beds and not facing ocean.

He brought us up 2 different keys and we went off to our next room. THIS ROOM WAS OCCUPIED WHICH WE DISCOVERED UPON ENTERING WITH ALL OUR SUITCASES!!!!!!! Our third trip to the lobby got yet another set of keys to another room
This room had no table and chairs, which was listed in the description. We had two laptops. I chose this hotel because they had free wifi and had table and chairs.

After 30 minutes, they brought us a table and chairs. At first they said it wouldn't fit through the door but we insisted and then it fit! Finally we were ready to relax. But they have no wifi. There was no network even tho they advertise it. We finally got a cable and are having to share it.

The balcony is great if you're a cockroach. It's about a foot deep so you get to open the door and stand in the doorway. Excuse me, but a balcony means you can sit on it and enjoy the ocean breeze.

All this is a shame because the rooms are quite nice. In 30 years of travels, here and abroad, I have never been given a key to an occupied room. It's quite lucky for this hotel owner that my husband and I are honest people and didn't rob this room.

NO SECURITY, NO WIFI, NO BALCONY...AVOID.

The rooms are very comfortable, absolutely clean and well-kept. We enjoyed the fire place in our room because it was very cold in California this May. The owners are extremly friendly and helpful. In comparison to other motels the price for a room was rather low.
We really can recommend this motel. Best regards to the owners Katrin and Harald

slightly out of town the motel sits off CA1. Rooms are modern and comfortable albeit dark.
Beds excellent. Very welcoming and hospitable. Breakfast quite basic-cereals, apples, toast, muffins, juice, coffee or tea. But quite enough.
Rates excellent.
We used internet but not the indoor spa
a 20 min walk along path or beach into town allowed beer to be drunk- Flying Dutchman resto was good and pleasant, not pricey. Good beer.
I'd stay again
