“Extremely Clean for a Pet-Friendly Motel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2011

As suffers of pet dander allergies, my husband and I trusted the review by the previous member about the cleanliness of this motel and the measures taken after pets are in the rooms. The review was correct. The room was extrememly clean and free of any pet smells. I was extremely impressed that the linens we so fresh smelling, even the quilt on the bed. The manager checking us in and out was extremely pleasant and helpful.

When reading other reviews and planning your stay, remember that this is a "MOTEL", which is an L-shaped, older-style motor hotel where you park in front of each room. Yes, the walls in these are generally thin and you can hear the neighbors. I took my earplugs expecting to use them here after reading other reviews, but I never had to. When we checked in, there were only a few other cars. But when we checked out, the place was almost full. I was surprised at this because we hardly heard the other visitors and were not awakened by them. We could hear footsteps upstairs early in the evening, and some showers in the morning, but the other travelers were very courteous to keep quiet.

I would definitely recommend this motel as a good place to stay on a budget. Thanks, Rodeway Inn.

This place is so clean! Especially considering they accept pets at just $25 per stay. They steam clean rooms after pets, plus I saw housekeeping remove the bedspread to launder after my pooch and I checked out. Keep in mind this is a budget motel people, not the Four Seasons. Rooms are simple but cheerful and yes, the walls are thin, reeeeally thin, so bring earplugs and stay upstairs if you can. Plus, unless you absolutely NEED a handicap accessible room, and cannot find any ANYWHERE else to stay, avoid room #8! I checked in late at night, the entire town was sold out for the Car Show, and it was the only room I could find, so I reluctantly took it. Ewww!! It's like a depressing hospital room, bare white walls and the saggiest double bed on earth! That mattress must have been twenty years old, it bowed and creaked and made crackling noises because of plastic sheeting. Cmon, just because it's a handicapped room doesn't mean it has to be furnished like a creepy second-rate nursing home! I barely slept, and in the morning I seriously needed a chiropractor. Was going to try to find somewhere else for the second night, even if I had to lose my $, it was that bad. But I spoke to the office and was moved to a room that had actual decor and a good bed, it was a different world! So, that being said, except for the Bates Motel-ish room #8, for a clean and simple crash pad in a great location, it's a good deal. The management was polite and ultimately helpful.

We stumbled upon this nice, quiet, and inexpensive motel when we decided not to tent camp next to large RVs at Morro Bay state park. Clean, quiet, and well-kept. I would recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Great deal if you are a AAA member

We needed a clean, inexpensive place for one night. It basically satisfied in that regard, if you're tired and don't care.
However, we called ahead and said we needed internet and they assured us they had free wi-fi. We were in an upstairs room. It worked for about ten minutes. We had to leave to get important business done. Be aware also that the 'HBO' is somehow affixed only to the Spanish-language version of the channel. Also, if you don't plan on waking up by 7:30 am, you will as other guests leave and the room shakes. Hot water for a shower was gone by 9:30. The proprietor doesn't offer anything but a uncomprehending look and a 'sorry.'

Room Tip: Insist on money-back if wi-fi won't work.

Ask for an upstairs room. We got one downstairs and was awake throughout the night as the people upstairs kept walking around and it sounded like an elephant walking upstairs! On top of it the Owner decides to start repair upstairs at 5 AM!
The breakfast was decent for a small size office area.

This is a very nice motel. Very clean (!!), cozy rooms. Free internet and breakfast included. Decent choice and quality food at the grab & go breakfast (bagels, muffins, toats, boiled eggs, fruit, coffee). Location was good too, it's a sleepy little town. Very quiet at night. Parking just outisde of the rooms. Would definitely stay here again!

Did not expect much given the low price. Was very surprised. Very clean, decent sized room. Happily surprised with microwave & fridge in the room. Hotel was in a nice location - close to Embarcadero. Even had a small continental breakfast in lobby. Recommend if you want an inexpensive, clean room to rest your head.
