We tried to go to Taco Temple our first day in the area, but saw the huge line and went to Chapala's instead (a nice, authentic alternative). We tried again the next day, arriving as it opened, and were very pleased with the entire experience.
The service is extremely friendly. They have self-serve homemade chips and salsa that you can go back for. The restaurant itself is really casual, but clean and well-kept.
The food was great. The tacos are huge and not really what you'd call authentic. Your best bet is to eat them with utensils because they're just unruly otherwise. My husband's flat iron steak taquitos were excellent.
Again - this isn't authentic Mexican food, but the twist they take on standard Mexican fare is really well done and worth trying to stop in.
Cash only, no reservations.
