“Stick to the seafood”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

We went for a late lunch. The staff was friendly but rushed trying to deal with the steady stream of customers.

Self service home made chips were just the right crispiness, along with the nice selection of sauces made a nice appetizer.

We ordered the chicken Taquitos, they looked like the frozen variety and were served with an overly large helping of salad with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole sauce. Frankly for the price I think Taco Bell's were better. The cheese cake for desert was another story and well worth the $6/ slice.

Taco Temple's specialty appears to be fresh seafood served with a Mexican Flair.
Prices are high and are cash only, but due to the overly generous portions are well within the norm for fresh seafood.

I will be back to try the seafood.

“Bring enough cash for dessert!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

They contract with someone named Dawnelle or something like that for their desserts. (Pardon me for not remembering, but the good news is her name is on the menu.) We'd been eating all day on the typical tourist route, but we stopped in to check this place out. Two desserts to go wiped us out of cash ($6 each) but it was money well-spent. We had one slice of Tres Leches cake and one of the densest, richest Carrot Cakes ever. Then we headed back to our hotel for 16 hours of pure heaven - one decadent bite at a time.

“Fresh fish options excellent!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Taco Temple never disappoints. They know how to present the best fresh fish in all of their Mexican food dishes. Order one of their daily fresh fish specials - last night we were a party of four had local halibut, calamari, rock fish and Coho salmon tacos. Every member of our party was very satisfied with the quality of the food, the service and the quantity of food. You might think that the prices are high (and remember to bring cash as no credit cards accepted) but the quantity and quality of food served are generous. I always end up bringing half of mine home unless I split my meal. There is also a self-serve chips and salsa bar with several fresh salsa choices. Very popular so if you're in a hurry, try going during non-traditional meal times.

“Great Mexican food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

If it were not for TripAdvisor, I would have never set foot in this place because it does not look that promising from the outside but food is very good. We stayed in Morro Bay on vacation and had an exhausting day of touring Hearst Castle in the August heat and were looking for a takeout place, so we could eat at our rented cottage. We drove there to order because we read that the place does not answer the phone and in fact when we got there a take out person was complaining that he had been trying to phone for take out, but no one would answer. Anyway, our family of 4 got the blackened cod tacos, chicken tacos, chicken burrito, and sweet potato enchilada. All but the buritto were excellent. The burritoo was just plain too big. Our freinds who live in Paso Robles were surprised we had found it because its very much a locals place. So thanks Trip Advisor.

“THE BEST”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

Highest recommendation for a must-try informal restaurant ! We dine in at least once per week. Love their specials but often the house fish tacos are the best! In our late sixties, we look for HEALTHY alternatives. I order 2 tacos- naked (without the tortillas that you won't miss) and w/o cheese to further lower the cholesterol content. A mountain of fresh greens and plenty of flavor makes me feel guiltless about ingesting "rich" food that cranks up the calories and fat. More fish in each "taco" than anywhere on the central coast. For 2 bucks order their guacamole for their freshly prepared chips (that I try to limit). The well-trained & attentive servers alway keep my soft-drink (diet coke) glass full. You will never go away hungry. Dessert, if you have room, is killer--they sometimes run out so order one before you finish. Split their chocolate bread pudding (incomparable) warmed or the carrot cake (huge portion) with your table to top off. Service is fast. No advertising, no reservations, no credit cards--just great food. Parking never a problem.
