We came here every night of our 3 night stay in Morro Bay. I had the bacon wrapped filet, clam chowder and chicken sandwich dishes and they were all delicious. My wife said the lobster in the surf and turf was the best she has ever had. We had great views of the bay and Morro rock from all the tables we sat at but I recommend dining at sunset for the best atmosphere.

I have been to several upscale and well rated fish restaurant on the west coast this past month: none cooked a fish to the standards that this restaurant delivered for our lunch. We had wonderful swordfish and salmon, tender moist and most important : fresh. The wine, a Paso Robles bottle of 2012 Sauvignon was delicious and cheap. If I had stayed longer in the region I definitely would have come back.

By any standards this seafood restaurant delivers. Right on the harbour edge, comfortable chairs and tables, great views. Book if you want a front table but frankly there are few tables anyway and the second row in does not lose the view. We were a walk in on a Monday. We could not understand why people were ordering the special lunch dishes which looked huge and a bit of a miss mash. The simple starter and main menu dishes were so fresh, so well prepared and presented that you could get the true flavours and textures of the ingredients. Has to be the chef. These simple adequate dishes would stand comparison with any top fish restaurant anywhere in the world. Great staff too. And the mud pie is yummy.

Whenever we visit Morro Bay, we make sure to dine AT LEAST one night at The Galley! The food is always impeccably prepared with the freshest ingredients. We celebrated my father's 90th birthday at the restaurant with a small family dinner (6 people) and we were never rushed. The staff is friendly without being intrusive. The views are spectacular. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I'll always go with one of the fresh fish selections.

Everything at The Galley was perfect, from the (whole wheat?) sourdough rolls, to the soft butter served instead of cold butter wrapped in foil, to the food and service. The scallops were cooked perfectly and were outstanding, as was the accompanying vegetables and rice pilaf. My wife rarely eats deep fried foods yet she said her fried shrimp were very lightly battered and were outstanding. Water glasses were never empty and the server was cheery and efficient. Can't wait to go back!
