“Sad sea lions.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

Everything about this establishment is sad. There's not much of an aquarium. It seems that the main attraction is the sea lions in the back enclosure. The space is dirty and not kept up. The one sea lion that was there was in a very small enclosure and the environment was very depressing. I wouldn't suggest taking children here because it's very uncomfortable seeing animals is this confined environment.

“Greed and Indifference”

Sickening exploitation of these suffering sea lions and seals. This place should be turned into something else. Anything else!

“Avoid the Seal Prison”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

Anyone who thinks this "aquarium" is saving injured sea creatures is delusional. A big sign over the tank reads "Feed the performing seals". Not any better than a circus. This place hasn't seen any updates since it's opening almost 50 years ago. The tanks are tiny. It broke my heart to see the seals swimming in little circles because they had no where to go. You want to show you kids what animal cruelty looks like make a trip there. If their goal was to rehabilitate seals they would free them. I read their seals live an average of 6 yrs. when the life expectancy of a harbor seal should be 25 years. Avoid this shameful place.

“depressing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

this place is long past it's sell by date, even though we enjoyed feeding the seals initially we felt bad afterwards. all the exhibit spaces are too small for the animals and the conditions do not look good...some of the fish were lying on their sides in the tanks, it looks like some old scientific lab. could be ok with smaller fish and no mammals but not as it is.
