“Sand Dollars galore”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

Free parking, beach access once you climb over the boulders. Sand dollars, and sand crabs all over the beach. It was pretty windy by the water.

Morro Rock is a must see all year round. It's a treasure of the Central Coast and I live 30 min. away now. Have to go back often!

“They built a tourist town around it”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

What makes this Rock so unusual is that it ti so accessible. You can drive right up to it as there is a free parking lot with bathrooms at it's base. next, you can walk around it for the most part as easily as walking on a sidewalk. in the bay you will see sea otters playing, sea gulls lurking on every post and sea lions (seals) cruising the harbor looking for a handout from the fishing boats. You can really get a close-up look at the Rock and all the birds that make it their perch. I mean lots of birds....
Next, comes the sunsets (when the fog has gone) and the rock again becomes the focal point. A large sandy beach boarders the east side where families can enjoy a safe day at the beach. You can see the marina on the west side and watch the boats coming and going through the harbor. It is a wonderful place to kayak or ride on those new age surfboards with oar. A bike path leads you back to the village where shops and restaurants line the streets. This community knew a good rock when they saw it.

Plenty of parking. Great views. Bring binoculars. Bring a lunch. Have a great time. Too bad you can't climb it.
