“Perfect edutainment for the kids before exploring the tide pools”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

The ranger was very friendly and gave us several suggestions regarding the area. She even provided us with a tidal chart so that we could plan our visit to the tide pools more accurately. It definitely helped us maximize our excursion. The museum itself is small and can be easily seen within 1 hour. However, the kids in our party (6 & under) found it very fun. It is located within the Morro Bay State Park with several trails nearby. Make sure you visit the museum BEFORE going out to explore the tide pools. It will be time well spent.

“Nice Little Museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

Been coming to Morro Bay State Park for over 30 years and have always enjoyed visiting this cute little museum. Lots of kid-friendly exhibits, some interactive. Informative. Inexpensive.

“Average museum”

However we enjoyed the walk from downtown along Main Street and the beach to the elevated museum. Beautiful view of the town and Morro Rock from above the museum.

“A nice kid-friendly experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2012

This is almost a perfect little museum with tons of hands-on exhibits for kids, its inexpensive, you can go out on the balcony and use their binoculars, the staff is low-key, and adults will learn a lot about the nature of the area too.

“What a wonderful find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2012

What a find. A very hands-on museum, designed for children. But my sister and I learned a lot, birds, tides, animals, earthquakes. Really fascinating and very well presented. Definitely recommend. And they have all kinds of nature walks and tours around the area. What a wonderful resource to help appreciate what a special place Morro Bay is.
