This is a very nice little Gem, in the middle of Morro Bay! Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We stayed in the Ocean View Suite and it was really nice and clean with a wonderful view. Loved the cozy fireplace and private balcony...we didn't want to leave. Friendly staff too... we would definitely recommend staying here. We will be returning soon!

We booked the Morro Bay Suite - which is really not a suite but a large room with a microwave, sink and refrigerator and a small patio. Marvelous view of the Morro rock from our room. We had unseasonably warm weather so we asked to use the free kayak and went for a quick spin around the bay to check out the sea life, amazing. This is a very small hotel within short walking distance to the local touristy area; perfect location; free parking on site. Even though its small it has an elevator to the second floor; must be because the new construction. They don't accept American Express our only credit card; but not really a big deal, just unusual. By the way they don't list their rooms on the usual travel websites - I had to go directly to their web-site and then I called for a room. Don't think they are booked because they don't show up on Expedia, etc. Book a room here you won't be disappointed.

The Kelp Room on the first floor would have had a great view except cars are parked in the way. I'd choose the 2nd floor next time so you can actually have a view and no one will be walking in front of your windows. Otherwise, really nice room. I paid $239 for one night in January which seems a bit high to me.

Room Tip: Choose the second floor.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Its a small hotel, newer construction, located right on the bay. Our upstairs room could be reached by stairs or elevator. Room was large with a slider, port hole, and large window. Lots of privacy. Bathroom good size, spotless and modern. Good location- could walk to the shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: recommend Bay View Suite, an upstairs corner unit with privacy and good views of the rock

We were just delighted to be at water's edge, overlooking Morro Rock, waking to a view of a variety of water birds and a curious seal amidst the moored yachts. Bedding was first class, and the layout of the room was cozy and smart - fireplace mounted high enough to enjoy from bed, and private view was special.

The room was very clean and comfortable with added extras like towels made into a swan. We had a private balcony overlooking the water. There were plenty of restaurants & shops in walking distance. Included are off street parking, wifi and breakfast. We would stay here again.

The recently-built Estero Inn reflects all of the warmth and charm that we could expect in this quaint, touristy seaside town overlooking the town’s namesake, Morro Rock, a giant granite monolith on a narrow peninsula on the town's north side. This inviting eight-room inn is on the waterfront, facing the harbor and its endless array of boats up and down the coast. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. They appeared brand new. Ours looked out across the harbor toward Morro Rock. Rooms come with Wi-Fi and the other comforts of home that one expects. A decent continental breakfast is included. The breakfast room includes a do-it-yourself waffle maker that we used both mornings of our stay. The Estero Inn is situated on the southerly end of the Embarcadero that runs along the harbor. The Embarcadero is Morro Bay’s primary tourist area and can seem congested on weekends, but the immediate vicinity of the inn is a little quieter and noticeably less hectic than the more tourist-filled area to the north. Numerous restaurants, cafes and shops are within very easy walking distance. Barking seals and thousands of seabirds add to the inn’s many charms. We haven't tried other places in Morro Bay, but the Estero Inn should be at or near the top of your list the next time you visit Morro Bay.
