“what a fab find!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

This little 8 room inn was one of my favourites along the west coast. The rooms were clean and conveniently located, reasonably spacious with well maintained bathrooms. Lovely view from the window of Morro rock and the sailing boats bobbing around on the water. Small balcony in our room (sunset). Kids had the Marine room - very spacious. Lovely meal out at Windows on the water.

Breakfast was amazing for such a small place. They even had a waffle maker with pre measured waffle mixture - how cool is that? And fresh fruit. And good coffee.

The only thing that nobody seemed to mention about Morro Bay was the massive 3 chimneyed power plant that dominates the place!! Still it didn't ruin our stay at all.

Room Tip: choose upstairs so passers by can't see in and a sea view - sunset was ours and was perfect

We stayed one night at the Estero Inn in August 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were in the Morro Rock room which was spacious and had an excellent view of the bay. The pictures on the hotel website are totally accurate. The room was up to date, everything new and spotless. The sleeping area has a nice counter with refrigerator and bar sink along one side. The fireplace was great and made the room cozy on a chilly evening...we especially liked that touch. Staff was cordial. A small but adequate breakfast was included. Most guest rooms are on the second floor and there is an elevator to help with getting luggage or for those not able to take the stairs. We would definitely come back.

We recently went to Morro Bay for the first time for a little weekend getaway and had a wonderful, relaxing time here at the Estero Inn. Rick checked us in and he could not have been more pleasant or accommodating. He answered all of our questions and suggested some great restaurants to check out during our stay. He also gave us two free wine tasting coupons for the wine merchant down the street. He asked us what we had planned for the weekend and we said we would like to rent a kayak and he said "Please use the two person kayak that we have here. What time would you like to go and we will have it ready for you?" How nice was that! He gave us a quick tour of the property, showed us the breakfast room, where to park, and our lovely room, the Kelp Forest Suite. Our room was clean and roomy and had an amazing view of Morro Rock. The inn backed right up to the water and you could watch the sailboats sail by in the bay, watch the sunset/rise and hear the seals. Our room was on the first level and one side window did overlook a small parking pad (just for hotel guests) but it didn't present a problem for us. We enjoyed the nice complimentary breakfast each morning which featured coffee, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit and even waffles. The inn is located right on the main street, walking distance to everything, but is still quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who is going to Morro Bay.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the upper floor if possible.

Eight lovely rooms, each with a balcony facing the harbor or little park next door, and excellently appointed with furnishings and supplies. There are other nice properties in Morro Bay, but this is a treat due to its quiet privacy, location on the water, and friendly staff.
If you are considering a stay, book early, as this property seems to sell out consistently.
It appears that you could also arrive by boat if cruising.

Room Tip: If you appreciate the marine view, the harborside rooms are good.

My wife and I stayed at Estero Inn recently while on vacation in California. The Estero Inn is in great location right on Embarcadero close to multiple restaurants, attractions and shops. The hotel has 7-8 rooms. We stayed in the Sunset Suite which had great views of the bay and Morro Rock. The room had nice patio. The room is not as big as I would have liked. The room was very clean and updated. The bathroom was very clean. There is fridge and microwave in room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is parking right next to the Inn. The only negative is the breakfast. There is small selection of items including cereal, muffins, bagels and waffles. There is no workout room or pool area at Inn. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

This is a charming small property right on the harbor. Ken, the owner was terrific, helping us with restaurants and chatting with us in the morning. We stayed in the Marine Suite which is large and comfortable. There was a boat docked right outside our window. The harbor is beautiful. Bring your camera and take pictures at dusk.

Room Tip: Anything overlooking the harbor is great.
