The rock is quite a sight to see, and there is a public beach on one side of it. We had a brief trip to Morro Bay while driving up the California coast. It is a very low-key, delightful small community with some good restaurants. Beach Bungalow Inn, and the room was perfect although we had some issues with the wifi. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Went on Captain Stew's Bay Cruise for $10/person, and he was knowledgeable and entertaining. The streets roll up at night, so there isn't a lot to do, but we were there in off-season. We also went to the State Park Museum and hiked the area. Overall, simply a very relaxing, beautiful place.

Our first stay at this park - awesome! Our campsite was directly across from the Bay Marina and the estuary. Woke up to a possum in the tree just outside the motorhome the first morning. Also visiting the campground was a great blue heron, golden eagle, and deer. The campground is within walking distance to the state museum - a must see. In the mornings before 10 a.m., you can see the sea otter frolicking in the kelp beds by Morro Rock. What a treat!
Would definitely stay at this park again.

We truly enjoyed our visit to this wonderful state park. The temps were a little chilly, but a sweatshirt took care of that problem. Be sure to see the museum located just west of the park. A very well done place to say the least. We loved the campsite and the Bayside Café near-by. It's a short walk from all campsites.

The Rock is awe-inspiring. Views of the water from the beach to the rocks near the surf spectacular. Enjoyed sunset sitting near the surf.

What a scenic state park. It overlooks the bay and Morro Rock. We enjoyed the birding throughout the different environs of the park and we enjoyed the museum. Birders are allowed to drive through the golf course and we thought it would be a fun place to play a round. It was pleasantly busy. We spoke to some campers who were enjoying their time at the park.
