“Birds and Harbor Seals”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

Our kayak guides pointed out the birds' nests and told us about the animal habitat this is. We saw a huge Blue Heron. A Harbor Seal was swimming near us and he popped up and treaded water watching us, we could hear his breathing. Our girls' loved that!

“Beautiful and Accessible/Good for All Ages”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

My favorite spots along the estuary: Sweet Springs Nature Reserve, Elfin Forest, the park at the south end of Morro Bay. These places are quite separate from the commercial route along the Embarcadero. Instead of jostling with tourists going in and out of marina shops, you will experience the sounds of seabirds and splashing water, the smells of salt water, and the gentle mist of fog as you share the uncrowded trails with bird watchers, dog walkers, and naturre lovers. If you feel hungry, go to Bayside Cafe, on the water, opposite the Morro Bay State Campground.

“Birds galore”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

Lots of birds of all kinds; sandpipers, egrets, seagulls, peregrin falcon is nesting here, grey pelicans, and many more. There's a nice flat walk from town on out to The Rock. The big boat cruising back and forth is a dredge. Several of the local restaurants offer great views of the entire area.
