“Great Location Great views”

We stayed there in May of 2012 to see the car show, and eat at Shawn's on Main (our favorite restaurant in the central coast). This was our first stay, as we usually stay in Baywood Inn in Los Osos. But the drive back to that place can be a bit dark at night. Embarcadero was a perfect stroll to where all of the action was in downtown Morro Bay, right across the street from the water. We stayed in a King Full view w/ Fireplace, and couldn't have been happier with the room. Breakfast was continental style, and make your own waffles. Fine for a single morning, but on our departure we made sure to stop at The Sculpture Egg for a real breakfast. We'll stay here again.

The rooms are nice and large. The beds are comfortable and we had a beautiful view. It's very quiet. Rooms come equipped with microwave and small refrigerator. They also have a fan in every room which I appreciate. There is a hot tub which we didn't use but will in the future. The hotel is close to all of downtown Morro Bay. We just walked in on a Wednesday and were given a beautiful room and a super discounted price. Well below the posted rates. I would stay here again and again.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor in the middle of the hotel and it was very quiet.

The view I had requested was not available when I arrived which didn't make me happy, however I was given a up grade to a suite and a reduction in rate during my stay, the décor is quite dated and in need of major improvements, the plumbing is terrible you can hear showers and toilets flush in the rooms adjacent and below when they are used As advertised the Embarcadero does have ocean views however most are very limited.

The location is good for walking to the restaurants and stores along Embarcadero.

This was our first time staying in Morro Bay. We loved it! It was quiet, relaxing and very beautiful! The Embarcadero Inn was perfect! There were no king bedrooms left, so we took a 2-queen room and this was no problem. (We booked only one week in advance). Our room faced the bay and because it was on the third floor, we had a perfect view of Morro Rock and the water with boats. We had a balcony with chairs which we sat on and enjoyed the sunset our first evening.

The girls at the front desk were super sweet and nice; very helpful with anything we needed. Emily even shipped me my hair dryer I left behind.

Free movies we borrowed to watch on the easy-to-use VCR and flat-screen TV. Our room was VERY spacious! The fireplace was just enough heat and the cozy ambiance was romantic for our 30th wedding anniversary.

The shower had great water pressure. The room had a small frig and microwave. It was clean. The bed was too soft, but we are just used to a hard bed at home. It was all we needed...perfect. :-)

We hiked up Black Hill Trail. It was the perfect hike. It took us 2.5 hours to walk to the top from the hotel (stopped a lot to take photos). Another day we walked to Morro Rock and back, stopping to eat dinner at the Great American Fish Company, which was delicious! There are many adorable shops and a yummy cinnamon roll shop.

We will be back to this lovely, peaceful, quiet, relaxing place and will stay at the Embarcadero Inn again.

Room Tip: Ask for third floor, facing water, with balcony sticking out. It was very quiet. All we heard was...

This Inn was quaint, quiet, clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was on the upper level with a nice view of the bay. The hotel was within walking distance of everything up and down the waterfront. Most of all, Morrow Bay is still a working fishing village and the city father's and mother's have worked hard to keep it quaint. They don't allow the worldmarts of the world to come in and wipe out the views. I believe it is the best bay on the California Coast.

1. All 3rd Floor rooms are full view, but you are across the street and there are buildings in the view. The rooms are "motel" like, not luxury. Hard beds, smallish TV, and a motel style bathroom.
2. The breakfast was "motel" like, but did have waffle-maker as promised.
3. The free DVD rentals were actually quite extensive and included a current selection of very good movies - this was a highlight as there is nothing to do in Morro Bay at night if you aren't interested in the bars.
4. Smokers beware - I smoked out on the balcony (despite a warning sign that I shouldn't), and got slapped with a $500 fee (and photos they took of my "crime"). My bad for breaking the rules, but there was no gentle warning or reminder, just a nasty manager when we went to go check out.
There was nothing I can find fault with, but given all the rave reviews, I was not as delighted as I had hoped.

Thank you for selecting the Embarcadero Inn. Our hotel is family owned and the way it was built 27 years ago, they decided to focus more on the view so that every room faces the water, however the balconies are not conducive to smokers because the smoke travels to other balconies and into other rooms.
We inform all guests at check-in that our entire property is Non-Smoking and what the fine is if violated, and all guests sign acknowledging this.
We are very sorry, but we are also very serious about keeping this hotel a smoke-free property for our guests and for future guests. And we hope that the $500 fine will deter people from smoking on the property.
We hope you will reconsider and visit us again.

Stayed here for 2 nights and was very impressed. We had a partial view 2nd floor. We had a nice view of the Harbor and the building across the street. For the price, I thought it was nice. 3rd floor full view would be ideal, and worth the extra $. Location is great- you can walk right outside and stroll along the water. The breakfast was more than expected- waffles, homemade cinnamon rolls, etc. The room was very clean and had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker. Staff was helpful, and the binder in the room was filled with great info on things to do. I would definitely stay here again!
