Wonderful location right on the harbor. Sea lions and sea otters swim by right in front of the hotel. Great restaurant (not owned by the inn) is attached. The restaurant fitted us in on a busy Friday night with no reservations when we mentioned we were staying at the inn. Now for the best part-- Molly, Jeff and Roger go completely over the top in making sure that no detail is overlooked in making your stay most enjoyable. Full of suggestions for local sights and food and just incredibly welcoming. Thanks!

Molly and her brothers run the place almost as their own home. Very warm vibe. Rooms were outstanding. The room we had was overlooking the water with a view of sea lions. Room furnishings were lovely. Your own binoculars provided. Highly recommend

We drove into Morro Bay at 6:30 pm on a Saturday evening with no reservations. We drove up and down the waterfront looking at the lodging options. We decided to see if the Anderson Inn had any vacancies. To our surprise, it had one! The Anderswon Inn is a wonderful 8 room, family run, upscale in. It is located right on the water in a very central location. The owner/operators really know the meaning of hospitality! Beautiful Rooms, Wonderful Beds and all the welcoming touches you could want.
Thank You to the Anderson Family, We Will Be Back!

From the moment we stepped into reception, we felt like we were home. Stayed 2 nights in a room on the water - the weather was incredible and on our last night, slept with the sliding doors open and listened to the seals frolicking outside the window. The Anderson family are very special - their parents owned the original Anderson Inn (now rebuilt) and it is quite obvious they were brought up in the hospitality industry. They couldn't do enough for us. They haven't missed a thing when it comes to even the smallest of detail. When we left, they gave us bottles of water and apples for our trip. Seriously, this place is heaven on earth - wish we had found it sooner. Even the restaurant (The Galley) downstairs - the food and service were awesome - we had a fixed price 3 course menu for $30 (with wine +$15) and it was up there with the best we had in NY (which cost over $200).

Don't bother staying anywhere else along the coast road - for a good rest and the best of everything - stay here! Thanks Molly, Jeff & Roger.

We needed a nice place to stay for a basket ball tournament and thi swas fantastic. The view coupled with the fireplace was delightful. The family staff were warm and welcoming. If we are ever in the area again we will stay there and hopefully for longer!

We initially went to the Anderson Inn at the last minute, a change in our travel plans meant we would need to make a night stop somewhere in the area, and I only booked the room earlier the same day - taking advantage of our mid-week and off-season timing. What a great find.

We had a such a great nights sleep, and a lasting impression from Jeff's great personal and friendly welcome that first evening, that when our plans changed yet again later the same week and found ourselves only an hour away from Morro Bay, we decided to head back to the Anderson Inn for two more nights only this time splurging on one of the fantastic "over-water" rooms.

The decor is relaxing and of really high quality, with great attention to detail - such as lovely quiet (near-slient) air conditioners (rather than those awful "through the wall" noisy things), and high quality carpets and finishes throughout - which matches the detailed and personal service from the eponymous Andersons themselves - touches like fresh milk in the fridge, bottles of water on arrival, and bottles to take on your journey when you leave.

Drifting off to sleep to the gentle "arf, arf" of the local sea otters and soft lapping of water in the sheltered harbour is hard to beat, especially if you're looking to chill out.

In the morning, if you don't want a full "meat and eggs" breakfast (i.e. Frankie and Lolas), the local French-style bakery (recommended by Mollie and Jeff) makes highly authentic and really tasty croissants and pastries. Bring those back to your room, so you can enjoy them while watching the sea otters swimming and diving, right in front of your balcony.

It's sort of like being at home, but your bed gets made, your bathroom gets cleaned and your bins emptied for you!

Highly recommended...

Just spent two nights at the Anderson Inn in one of their rooms over the water. An amazing location with beautiful rooms, stunning views and the warmest service from the Andersons! It's no wonder they get such consistently high ratings. I would recommend spending the extra money to get the over-the-water rooms!

We went for a nice romantic get away and really had no idea what to expect. Morro Bay turned out to be a much more charming town than I expected. Kayak rentals are right next door. Great dining is all around and easy to walk to. The Galley Restaurant is right downstairs and is probably the best restaurant in town!

The Anderson's take care of everything but not in an overbearing way. They don't charge for the water bottles in the room. They include some loaner binoculars. They even put fresh half and half in the frig for the coffee. They really go out of their way to make everything perfect. And they seem to really enjoy running the hotel!

One last thing, for the adventurous, it is really worth it to take a kayak across the bay to the sand dunes. We went out there and walked across to the open ocean. Just beautiful and you feel like you are a world away.
