“A wonderful family restaurant!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

A great place to take the kids. A good down to earth family oriented restaurant with, surprise, good food too. We had a family of six on a Sunday night at 6 pm and had a wait of about 10 minutes. We all ordered different steaks and different degrees of doneness and they all came out exactly as ordered. All equally delicious.. They offer seafood also which was fresh and delicious and the sides are good too. There is an interesting story of how it all started written by the owner in lighthearted way, almost makes one want to start their own restaurant.

“delicious, reasonable prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

Delicous meals, excellent meat, even the burgers are tasty, good deal for the price, wide variety of side dishes, fast and friendly service, clean tables, nice choice of draft beer. The mashed potatoes are out of this world.

“It's Steak time.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012 via mobile

As far as steak dinners go for a reasonable price their Stockyard (9 or 12oz) is right. I always get it cooked the way I order it. It arrives sizzling on a hot skillet with sizable baked potato and garlic bread. Soup or salad included.
Family atmosphere.

“Old-school steak house still popular in Moreno Valley”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

Places like Steer N Stein were once "hot date" venues during most baby boomers' younger sporting years. You can relive that fast-disappearing steak house atmosphere at this locale, found in the NE quadrant of Perris & JFK Blvds. Little changed since it opened in 1967, most of the menu features heavy meat & potato dinners and extra-large sandwiches. Salad offerings can be counted on one hand. Alcoholic beverages are available as are Pepsi products.

An older crowd and military officers predominate. Parking is plentiful, the bathrooms are clean, if dated and the waitresses are friendly. Take your time and relive fine dining from the 70s & 80s - even in 2012. Bottom line: Look for daily specials and be sure to try their Philly cheese steak... pretty good for Southern Calif. This is a good place to take Mom & Dad on their anniversary.
