“Nice place if you like buffets”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

The staff is great here and the manager was so kind and friendly. the food presented was a bit "raked through" and they were trying to keep up with keeping the pans clean and full..but this is a popular place with families and thats the problem really.

“You Get What You Pay For”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Home Town Buffet is Home Town Buffet. If you've been to one, you've been to them all. Cheap, lots of food, huge selection, located in high traffic areas, but the quality of the food is about what you'd expect in such a cheap place. On the bright side you'll never leave here hungry!

“Disgusting and Dirty!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

I know Home Town does not have a great reputation but after visiting this one I see why. The place is right inside the Mo Val Mall which is bad in itself. The booths are dingy, sticky, and just gross!!! The buffet itself leaves something to be desired!! There are children running around just doing whatever! I have a son but he would never do half the stuff that some of these kids were doing. The food is either gone, cold or hard!!! If I can help it I will not step foot into this place again unless it had just opened and no one has touched the food!!!

“Plenty of comfort food for the whole family, and no dishes to wash!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012

Tucked away on the bottom floor of the east end of the Moreno Valley Mall near the transit center, the Home Town Buffet (HTB) beckons the truly hungry and gives Mom - or Dad - a chance to please nearly everyone without having to do the dishes. You'll need to arrive early to get the freshest buffet offerings and the best tables.

Prices here are very reasonable considering all the choices provided. Good rates for groups and seniors can be arranged. This HTB is a minority-owned operation and they do their best to please Moreno Valley's diverse clientele. Its always been a favorite of families, soccer teams and the after-church crowd, most of whom arrive in their Sunday-best outfits, even the children.

If you are looking for healthy choices, the HTB offers an entire section of salad fixings and low-cal dressings. Additionally, all the hot tables provide plenty of hot vegetable side dishes and other trimmings. If you're looking for gourmet attractions, sorry... you won't find them here. Nearly everything is standard all-American or Mexican-American dishes from the turkey carving station to the bread pudding dessert. I always enjoy their fish, salads, hot veggies and tapioca.

Parking is OK even though HTB is at the mall entrance. Sometimes there is a long line outside to get a table, especially on weekends. The rest rooms are only fair, due to high-level use by kids. Tables are bused regularly and you can go back again and again to refill your plates. There are plenty of beverages and Coke products are served; there's no Pepsi.

Bottom line: Live it up on the comfort food - or healthy food - offered in truly satisfying quantities at Home Town Buffet. And best of all, no one but the staff has to do the dishes! I recommend this place for families and large groups where its necessary to please as many as possible. In non-peak hours, its even OK for couples.
