Description: Loulou's Griddle in the Middle is the tiny diner on Wharf #2. We always say we're "tiny but mighty." We cook with a lot of heart, soul, and deep care about every detail. We aim to make your experience comfortable, fun, delicious, and a little like being at a home-away-from-home. The kitchen is open so you can see our chefs preparing right in front of you. Our community of customers--both local and visitors from far away--also make Loulou's special. We bend over backwards to accomodate your requests, when we can, and we might crown you with a tiara if your requests are many....but all in fun. The diner opened in 1948, so it's rich with history. We're blessed with one customer, Henry, who has been coming EVERY morning since 1948 and he's earned a customized stool, a plaque, his own coffee mug, and a warm place in our hearts.

Biggest calamari I've ever eaten and very fresh. Also loved the fresh caught salmon over a salad! Got lucky with no wait and great counter seats. Nice and laid back place!

Thank TLHyland

Okay. So my husband and I showed up her early Saturday evening as he wanted to try the Sand Dabs. This place had fantastic YELP reviews so he was anxious to check out the seafood. The place is just a little shack in the middle of Wharf #2. It was overflowing with people so, with the limited amount of indoor/outdoor casual seating, it became clear that we wouldn't be dining anytime soon. On a positive note, the overflow of customers showed how loved this place actually was. We dined somewhere else that night but decided to try lunch here on Monday late morning.
We got there at about 11:45 and noticed people still eating breakfast. There were lots of people again but this time, we walked straight to a table. We waited for about 5 minutes and we were given some water and coffee and told our waitress would be with us in about 5 minutes to take our order....Okay...so we waited and waited and waited and barely got a look from the waitress that had 3 tables and some counter customers to serve. We sat patiently. They were actually cleaning up breakfast and switching to lunch menu, so that was understandable. When 15 minutes passed and some counter customers walked in and got service straight away from our waitress, we were irritated, to say the least. I convinced my husband to stick it out because he really wanted the fish, which, did not disappoint. He loved it. The food was delicious. He ordered the sand dabs and got 4 pieces of flakey, buttery, lightly breaded fried goodness. They came on the top on some very crispy meaty fries. The food was worth the wait but our service was poor, sorry to say. If the waitress is reading this, it is why you got a 2.00 tip on a 17.00 check. We are usually good tippers but your actions just didn't warrant anything higher. Overall, the food was very good.

Read about it on line, wanted to eat someplace different. Very very limited space but the food was great and the staff are very friendly and treat you like they are your old friends returning.
