“Good value, comfortable bed, and clean and pleasant accommodations”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We stayed here one night to visit family who were also staying in the area. The grounds are nicely landscaped and the rooms are clean, spacious and quiet (even on a Saturday night). We felt the room was fairly priced and appreciated the option to stay just one night. My favorite part of the stay was the bed, which was very comfortable - even for me being in my third trimester of pregnancy and picky about bed comfort. We would definitely stay here again!

Fast, friendly checkin, and lots of little touches like free DVD check-out at the main office, bike rentals, and an in-room fridge. Roll-away bed was available for an extra 20 dollars a night which was nice for our large family, and the room was spacious enough for the two double beds and the rollaways plus we still had room to move around. Definitely would consider staying here again. We often prefer hotels with interior corridors for security, but all rooms here we saw were accessible from the outside. Some are advertised as interior access, but the door to the buildings were wide open. The site does have a security patrol, and we didn't feel at all unsafe though.

Room Tip: The property has several buildings around the perimeter, each with plenty of parking. Some building...

Very much enjoyed this hotel. The staff is very friendly and there is a nice restaurant on the property. Stayed in room 102 I believe, which was very spacious. However there was no air-condition. I was concerned that the room was right in front of the pool and ice machine, but it was not a problem at all. The hotel location was in walking distance to the pier and super close to 17 Mile-Pebble Beach. The grounds were kept nice and there are plenty of roses, if you have the time to take--smell them. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

We stayed a few days with our grandson and Cocker Spaniel. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and very accommodating to our pet. They even let us keep him in the room while we went to the Monterey Aquarium. The service is excellent, the restaurant offers delicious food, and they have some excellent amenities such as a movie library, spa, pool, and gym. This is one of our favorite places to stay in Monterey.

Room Tip: The ground floor, near the lawn if the best spot if you are traveling with a dog.

I booked a room in that hotel not finding any hint that rooms are in any other location than the main building. We arrived and were told our room is 200 meters away from the main building in a kind of barrack constructed building. The room actually was right next to the pool and the ice machine. I asked for an upgrade to be in the main building. I would have accepted the additional cost. The receptionist checkd for availabilities and a room was shown to us, that we were willing to accept. Coming down from the room , the receptionist all of a sudden realized that this room was already booked. So we stayed in the room next to the ice machine, what was a night mare.

Dog Friendly: Your dog can stay with you in your room - first floor only. Make sure you speak to the front desk about having your dog with you. There's a very nice, well maintained grassy area to take your dog. The staff deals with your pet very well. They were very nice to my English Bulldog. You can also take your dog to the lobby area and the attached restaurant lets you sit with your dog in the patio area.

Service: Very friendly efficient staff from front desk to the housekeepers.
Room: Seems to have been updated since some of the more critical reviews. The layout is clearly from the 50's, and that would take major remodeling to fix. But the furnishing were good. No air conditioning, and while you rarely need it in Monterey, you do need it from time to time. A fan would be nice.
Bed: Not good. Not horrible, but definitely not the most comfortable bed I've slept in.
Price: I booked this online, the price was good. I don't know about their direct prices.
Hotel grounds: Nice rose garden. Swimming pool that is well kept.
WIFI: Fast and Free
Close to all the tourist (and non-tourist) spot in Monterey

Room Tip: You don't want a room by the pool. And the rooms next to the dog walking area is busy, but not...
