Stargazer Inn and Suites

You know how sometimes you get shampoo all in your hair, it's running down into your eyes & then the shower pressure goes out? Yeah, this is one of those places. I could go on, but this is just an overpriced dump on a busy street, far from anywhere worthwhile in Monterey. Stay elsewhere.

Was not expecting much but I will not return . Rooms small and musty with a deodorizer smell. Had to change rooms ,first had no A/c room very stuffy. I am not familiar with other motels in the area but I think it could have been better for the price.

Stayed three nights. The room was very outdated but clean. Nice swimming pool area. Started each day off with a great Continental breakfast, which really helps.People who prepare this was not friendly at all. Did not like all the maid service stuff and bedding scattered outside all over in your walk way all the time.

Room Tip: next time we will choose something we can walk to the attractions, like the aquarium and the cannery...

only stayed 1 night in this hotel but wish we would have stayed longer. Way way too much to do in this area for just 1 night. My wife and I stayed in the cottage room rite next to the office, it was interesting to say the least was kinda a different style room then we are use too. Room was a bit dated but clean and comfy. All the front desk staff we spoke to (checking in and out) were really friendly and more then happy to explain where things were and how everything worked. Other staff could have been nicer didn't really interact with them but didn't seem to be too happy to be at work. Parking sucked and when I say sucked I mean we went to dinner and came back to have to park on the street in front of the hotel =(

Room Tip: I would stay at this hotel again the front desk staff and cleanliness of the room made up for all th...

On a last minute getaway to Monterey during a very busy weekend, I was on the hunt for an affordable but clean and comfortable room. I ran across some reviews of the Clarion and with much hesitation, gave them a call. For not too much more than a standard King room, the honeymoon suite was available - in room hot tub included. For around $250 on a Saturday night, we snagged it. So glad we did. The room was clean, comfortable, easily accessible, spacious and with appropriate amenities. The hotel itself is about 2 miles from Cannery Row so we spent the evening strolling through the lovely breezy little town of Monterey.
