This place needs to be shut down and renovated now. The rooms were filthy, popcorn ceilings, filthy chairs inside rooms, stains all over the walls and bed linens. We got keys to three rooms and all had similar issues. The staff did not care at all with our concerns and we ended up leaving. Finding a new hotel with kids is extremely stressful. Do not stay here!

Stayed 2 nights and it felt like an old motel 6... This hotel is in the ‘Bonvoy’ line and it absolutely sucked! The room stunk like mildew! The lobby was updated and really nice, but the 4th floor was old and stinky. I would not recommend this hotel, there are many others in the area that are nicer and about the same price.

We stayed at this hotel for one night briefly on our way to Yosemite from San Francisco. While not the most modern, it was clean and comfortable. We didn't need much service but what little we had was very good. We chose to valet park and they were very good and efficient. There is another parking garage down the street as well. It is located very close to the wharf which is a bonus. They have a very good free breakfast buffet, but different from other Marriott properties you have to wait to be seated and it was crowded on a weekend.

Im a Marriott Bomvoy Titanium Elite and received the worst service at this hotel, would not recommend for anyone, NOT EVEN SAFE called at your service and requested help they saud secutiry was going to take care of an extremly noisy guest. They do not care for guest or vene their safety. There are plenty of properties in Monterey find another or for sure you will remember my review

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights to celebrate his birthday. I have always been pleased with Marriott, but not this time. Because of a broken water pipe, we had no hot water the first morning. The second day, the water warmed up to lukewarm. The bed was uncomfortable and the tv did not work. We did appreciate a maintenance worker who came to our room and explained the reason for there being no hot water. He apologized numerous times and also exchanged our tv for one which worked. His visit was the highlight of our stay. On checking out, we were told about the planned renovations. Unfortunately, that did not improve our experience. We won’t be back.

Monterey Marriott is Adverting renovation in October 2019. Can’t come too soon. Stayed there in 2010 & it’s the same mediocre venue. Needs renovation & soundproofing both internal & external. Lidia, housekeeping, & our buffet breakfast omelet lady are superb.
