Owner description: Popular hiking trail running along the Pacific Grove and Monterey coast.

I'm an early bird so when I walk in the morning there aren't very many people on the path. If you go later, there will be bicyclists, skate bladders, and joggers abound. Some are inconsiderate so be careful as they come up behind and in front of you. There are no speed limit requirements for these people. Otherwise, be sure to bring a camera, a packed lunch if you'd like as there are picnic tables in certain areas, and comfortable walking shoes. I hope to bring my bicycle next time and enjoy the full distance from the wharf to Pacific Grove area then back again! The path also takes you directly through Cannery Row area if you prefer to dine in that area. There is also a free round trip trolley service between the wharf & Cannery Row. So if you walked to Cannery Row you can always get a ride back if you're not up for the walk back! ;)

LOVED walking the trail through Pacific Grove -- very peaceful! compared to the city of Chicago traffic we are used to -- this was a slice of heaven!

Great views, well maintained. Goes to the places you really want to go to. We walked and biked the trail. From our the Portola we biked to Lover's point then up to the entrance to the 17 mile drive and biked on to Carmel. After lunch in Carmel, we biked back. Great way to spend the day.

This very scenic trail actually goes from Castroville to/through Pebble Beach. Most tourists just walk the part from the warf to Cannery Row or Lover's Point. If you have a bike, keep going! The trail goes for miles and miles in both directions. AND if you walk or bike, you do not have to pay to get into Pebble Beach! Seeing Pebble on bike is the best way to go.

Awesome trail along the beautiful Pacific Coast, easy access and rental bikes and pedal carts available near lovers point in Pacific Grove California.
Found the trail after the kids had to see all the Disney artwork at the Thomas Kinkade Gallery at 381 Cannery Row in Monterey Ca. And wonderful people there told us about it. A must see, and its free :)
