“Worth the fee”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

Great views of the the Pacific are offered along the trail. Get out and take a couple of walks. You could not see the Sea Lions because they had erected a fence. It is a residential community, so people are driving around. The fee is not too bad for the experience. It is worth doing, if you have never done it.

“Preparing you for the 17 miles drive”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

We walked a good part of the trail and took in as much as we could of the ocean views in preparation for the 17 miles drive. There are many places to sit and enjoy the view or park the bike and walk out to a point to get a closer view of the ocean. Lovers Point offers a 280 degree of the ocean. People were walking their dogs, jogging, riding their bikes and some pushing a baby carriage while they jogged... This is an easy walk and there are restrooms available. Bring your binoculars for sure and good shoes that fit well. A bottle of water won't hurt. Watch for the baby seals just before Lover's point

When we first visited Monterey the bike and walking trail was a hit! We love the beauty of God's creation and what an incredible scenic place this is for all to enjoy - young or old! We did a lot of biking and walking while here.Taking in the beauty of the ocean, beach and living creatures.

“Perfect place to ride a bike”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

This is a fantastic trail for biking and walking/running. It runs from Castroville in north Monterey Co. to Lover's Point in Pacific Grove. If you're on a bike I would suggest either hitting the trail early, or using it between Castroville and Monterey. From Monterey to Pacific Grove it is often crowded with walkers making it a frustrating ride. All parts of the trail are beautiful offering great views of the ocean, agricultural fields and the towns of Monterey County.

“Good walk to enjoy”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Great scenery, interesting history, convenient bathrooms...dog walkers also enjoy this. I like the birdwatching, so bring binoculars and maybe a birdbook.
