Lot's of outdoor activities. It was sunny but windy and cold near the water so we enjoyed the great variety of activities in and around Monterey.

The Monterey Peninsula Recreational Trail goes by several names, which is confusing. According to my AAA map it is The Monterey Bay Coastal Trail. It appears to have been a RR bed at one time; we spotted what appeared to have been a RR depot along the trail. It's a nice, wide bike/walking/running trail, but does not always offer a view of the ocean. It depends on what part of the trail you are on. It's a great path, especially for biking, but not necessarily for breath-taking views. Best spot for watching harbor seals: just south of Old Fisherman's Wharf. They love to sun on the rocks there close enough to shore that you can easily see them.

Well maintained bike trail which we rode from the La Quinta to Pacific Grove where it ended. An easy ride. The trail had more hills in the other direction but was beautiful along the shore sections.

nothing was negative, had good weather for the tide pools and low tides. Took friend which has never seen the life in the tide pools near Point Lobos.

We had driven along the coastline so knew what to expect but it was much better by bicycle. The seabirds and waves crashing on the rocks were spectacular - those surfer dudes and dude totes have to be mad!
