This meal was great. Not just the food, but the atmosphere and the waiters as well. The clam chowder was great. In our party, we had the Stuffed Halibut and the Lobster Dinner. They were both awesome! The wait staff was awesome, they were each right on top of everything. I would definitely recommend Fish Hopper in Monterrey.

We ate lunch at Fish Hoppers today and we were more than disappointed. We both had fish & chips, supposed to have been Pacific cod. However, it was worse than fish stix from the freezer -- dry, overlooked and not much thicker. Two thin slices of lemon, barely enough to get juice from and the fish was sitting on a pile of dry (and dried out) shredded cabbage! Most unappetizing, especially when we looked up from our table, out to sea, only to see an orange and white striped awning covered with about 3 inches of bird poop facing us! More than a little unappetizing! With all the good restaurants in Monterey, this is one to avoid.

Ate here with no reservation on a busy Saturday night - we were given a pager on arrival and took a seat at the bar, where we enjoyed drinks for 15-20 minutes until a table became available. Given the location of the restaurant in the most tourist-orientated area of a tourist town, we had expected the pricing to be on the high side (and wouldn't normally hold out high hopes for the quality,) but we were really surprised how great everything was. Myself and my friend aren't big fish eaters, so we took superb fillet mignon - really beautifully cooked. Our respective wives both enjoyed their fish courses - they looked great. The bill was really reasonable for both food and drink, the service was good (even given how busy the night was.) Very impressed.

We ate at this restaurant three times while we were there and the food was excellent. The service was exceptional and the staff were so nice. One young lady (can't remember her name, but she had beautiful wavy long brown hair) was so incredibly friendly!

My wife and I dined there recently and enjoyed it so much we returned the next evening. The venue is perfect for Monterey, right on the water. The service was friendly and accommodating. Our meals were outstanding on both visits. Great clam chowder, fresh fish and vegetables. I had a steak that was simply seasoned and grilled perfectly. Our salads were fresh and not overly dressed. The dinning rooms were crowded but not too noisy, except for the patio which was extremely noisy, we had the waiter move us into the main dining room because of the noise. Great dining experience I would go back.
