We stumbled upon this place on our evening stroll and are really glad we did! We were greeted by a very kind waiter named Daniel. He informed us that the kitchen would be closing in about 10 minutes but they would still love to accommodate us if we could make our dinner choices quickly. My husband was famished so we thought why not. We weren't sure of what we wanted so Daniel made some suggestions which we took him up on. He suggested the Duke's Pork Platter for my husband and since I wasn't hungry a St. Germain's Gin and Tonic. Both were fantastic and so was the service.

We sat next to a very nice couple who almost had Daniel dancing on the bar! Ha! Not really but I think he considered it. We would definitely return here on our next visit to Monterey and hopefully we will get Daniel for our waiter again.

The restaurant staff was friendly and accommodating as we entered and sat down. However, when 35 minutes had passed after ordering lunch, and there was still no food on the table, our inquiry of "how much longer?" was met with irritation. It took 41 minutes from the time of order until food landed on the table -- and two of our six lunches were served at room temperature when they should have been hot. We did not say anything as we didn't want to wait forever for it to be remedied. No one ever came by to refill empty glasses of sodas or tea. Very disappointing after reading the (now highly suspicious) glowing reviews.

Probably not the most authentic of Hawaiian foods but the restaurant was fun and the food was good. Good soup but the ribs were marginal.

We were in Monterey 2 nights and both nights we ate here. That's how much we loved it. A must try is the Jamaican Jerk sauce on anything (fish, chicken or tofu) The staff was friendly too.

This place was so good that we came here twice over the course of a long weekend. The poke (raw tuna yumminess) and the ceviche (served with fried wontons) were absolutely amazing. I am dreaming of them right now. The jerk pork ribs were wonderful, the tiki drinks were great, and we loved the liliko'i (passionfruit) pie. The atmosphere was fun and the service was very good. I am so glad I gave this place a shot.
