“Great food Great Service”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

Typical steakhouse service and ambiance, wonderful. Bacon wrapped scallops were cooked to perfection, but very small portion. 12oz filet was cooked perfectly, medium rare highly recommended. Good sized lobster tail. Ceasar salad tossed at table side. Good sides. Would recommend and possibly return if in the area but not the best I've ever had.

“The best steak in town!”
Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

We just had the best Rib Eye and lobster in town. The Rib Eye was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and just melted in my mouth. It was pure heaven! Oh did I mention that it was aged for 60 days! Marvelous is all I can say.

“Dinner for many”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

After the Sardine Factory, we tried the Whaling Station as the #2 recommendation and were not disappointed. They age their beef in-house and I must say I highly recommend the Dry Aged steaks here. As good as any I've ever had

“Second time visit in 7 years”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We visited this restaurant 7 years ago just by chance and it was fabulous then. Visiting the area again this year we decided to take our family there hoping for a repeat performance, however although the food was great the actual restaurant has become quite pretentious and the service almost too big for their boots.

We arrived a little early, but this wasn't a problem once the head waiter had given us an albeit surreptitious 'once over' look and clearly decided that we would pass his appearance test. Our table was ok and positioned by the window to add to the impression to outsiders that the restaurant was busier than it actually was.

The menu is varied and offers great steak choices which are also displayed near the entrance and brought to the table. We chose steaks and a beef Wellington and all if them were delicious and perfectly cooked. Accompaniments complemented the meat perfectly.

To start we selected the table side prepared Caesar salad which we had enjoyed previously when it had been prepared with a flourish, spinning bowls to make the dressing. Sadly this time although it was made in a similar bowl we couldn't see a thing apart from the waiters smug face as he told s what he was doing. The salad was fine but pricey at 9 bucks a head.

No room for desert, so we didn't get to view the menu, but were offered creme brûlée.

One consistent aspect of the waiters there was that they have all perfected the 'low voice' technique i.e. speaking just loud enough to be heard with some effort on the part of the diners, hence our feeling that whilst the food remains king here, the service does believe itself to be beyond it.

Go to eat and enjoy the superb steaks.
