Because of the location I was expecting a typical tourist rip-off, but I was completely wrong. We were greeted courteously & seated quickly. We used a coupon (from whale-watching) and got our first of many pleasant surprises-a large portion of perfectly prepared calamari. I was raised across the bay in Santa Cruz, so I'm particular about local seafood (and calamari is so easy to ruin), but this was cooked to perfection, and the batter was great too. Wow-great food with a free tourist coupon-first time ever for us! Then we tried the bread bowl chowder, and were completely won over. Our entrees (Sand Dabs, Sole, and the Platter) were absolutely delicious. and then there were the sides-I was expecting the standard over-cooked and bland rice pilaf - and was completely surprised by their quality and flavor. From couscous, to risotto, to some kind of corn meal - each perfectly complemented the main, and were enjoyable in their own right too. On top of that you add in a great view, well mixed drinks, a very decent wine selection, and you have a nearly perfect experience. It reminded me of when I was a child (before the aquarium and tourism explosion) when we would travel here strictly to have a great dinner. We'll be back
