“this place has it all”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

We started off with the artichoke and Ahi tostadas amazing! We ate these at the bar while waiting for our table. What is really nice is when they are busy they offer you a glass of sangria or a glass of champagne, we found that so awesome a great touch. We had for dinner the osco Gucci that looked so impressive and unbelievable. My wife had the cedar planned salmon, the presentation was really cool, it's served on the plank with caper sauce melts in your mouth..I don't get these reviews, this was our second time, we had a fantastic Valentine's dinner and came back for more..please don't let any of these reviews discourage your visit to Rappa's, a place that deserves praises...5 stars guys you deserve it...

“Drinks and View only”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

This gets a 2 stars for the location and the drinks. It's the perfect place to unwind at happy hour with a reasonably priced drink and one of the world's outstanding views. On that level, it deserves a 5 star. But whatever you do, don't be tempted to order anything, I mean anything to eat. The food will be oily, overcooked, undercooked, frozen you name it but whatever it will be it won't be good. Our calamari was overdone so rubbery, with an excess of oily batter. Service can be variable as well.

“Good solid lunch - Amazing location!”
Reviewed January 21, 2013 via mobile

Location - Location - location !!!
Overall a nice experience. Food was good and fair priced, service was ok. However I wouldn't recommend the artichoke. I will definitely go back. Monterey is sooo much nicer than San Francisco!

“Awful service”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

This restaurant was a major disappointment for our family. We had been excited about going for weeks but we won't be back. No drinks for 45 minutes. No refills in 1 1/2 hrs of waiting for food that came, finally, except when it came it was cold and they did not bring one person's for another 20 minutes. Who wants to pay $25 for a heat-less steak?

The waiter was delayed and so rude, shouting at us, never stopping by, would not look at anyone. He really just didn't even begin to do his job. The family sitting behind us concurred that the experience sucked ("We thought it was just us"). We came in enthusiastic about having a nice meal at Rappa's at the end of a long day of hard work and left hungry, disappointed and maddened. We paid for the one person who got to eat a warm meal, and ended up eating fast food at a fish and chips shop on the wharf.

It was an awful night. If you're really set on going to Rappa's, all I can say is Good Luck. If you're not, that's probably one of those decisions you 'll end up Not Regretting. Try Abalonetti's instead.

“worst Sea food ever”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

first time on 12/23/2012, We ordered a fried calamari and crab cake, several minutes later they served the calamari but apologized for not having the Crab cake: Imagine a SEA food restaurant that does not have a sea food………..The Calamari dish was a disaster as it came with a lot of fried green beans and potato and probably five pieces of calamari when I usually get a least 10 delicious calamari in a dish in downtown Phoenix, Arizona (no SEA around in 100 miles).
