We booked this last minute and it looked fine from the outside. The location is along hotel/motel row and they all look the same...I thought. The room was rundown and needed serious cosmetic fixes. The bed was uncomfortable and the free breakfast was not good--so we skipped it and headed to Lulu's Griddle in the Middle (best decision of the day!). The management was friendly and the shower was decent and stayed hot. Other than that, I would keep looking next time. For the $200 we paid, we were severely overcharged.

Stayed here for 1 night. The room was very spacious. I was in the building across the street and the room was very cold but the heater made a lot of noise. There was parking available. Breakfast was pretty good, your typical stuff.
I think it was very good for the price.

This hotel was super nice. I loved the location. It is about 5 blocks from the ocean and the wharf. There are restaurants around it within short distance and it is easy to access from the highway.

The room was very clean but the best thing was all the pillows on my bed. I had probably 6 pillows and were soft as all get out. There was plenty of parking which is close to the rooms, so you don't have to walk to far.

Only complaint I had was the clerk would only give me one key, usually I keep one hidden away in my purse and then use the other cause I always forget the first one. Well since the clerk would only give me one key I kept locking myself outside of my room and had to ask him to let me in each time. Around the third time he was getting mighty angry. I was like then give me two keys and the answer was no. I was like "WHAT."

The room included a mini fridge and microwave. If I go to Monterey again I will stay here for the location it is good for the money. And when I go back I am going to try and see if I can get two keys.
